Brent Christian Posted January 22, 2016 Author Posted January 22, 2016 Is being a Co Angler worth the experience? Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted January 22, 2016 Super User Posted January 22, 2016 Is being a co-angler worth it......simple answer is yes. You learn a lot from watching someone in the front of the boat, see different patterns and styles of fishing, and learn to adapt and become a better all around fisherman. Not to mention you get to ride around for 2 days fishing out of the back of someone elses fully equipped boat. And you never know, you may meet someone fishing one day that turns out to be a great partner down the road to travel with as well as fish team events. 2 Quote
JT Bagwell Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 I fished a bunch of events as a co-angler several years ago and it is definitely worth the experience. While you run the risk of getting paired with some guy that is a jerk, the vast majority are great people willing to help you grow as an angler. I learned to be more effective with a Carolina rig and some great Swim jig techniques during my time as a co-angler. I would recommend giving it a try. 2 Quote
corn-on-the-rob Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Depends. Tournament fishing isn't for everyone, but if you got the competitive itch, give it a try! 2 Quote
ChazfromVA Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 being a co angler is definitely worth it . you will learn more than you can ever imagine fishing in a B.A.S.S open event behind a pro. most of them are very nice and will give you advice if you ask the right questions. its an experience that is well worth the entry fee in my opinion. plus you have the opportunity to win a boat. whats not to like? lol 1 Quote
VAHunter Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Nice job on the win in Florida, Chaz! We were all pulling for you on the final day. That was the topic of discussion after we fished Burnt Mills. Congrats again and enjoy the boat. Kevin Mills Quote
ChazfromVA Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Thanks again Kevin! All the support from back home made the difference for me I think . heard its been super tough out on the lakes so I'm looking forward to getting back out there and figuring them out this sunday. I'll see you on the water soon! 2 Quote
