mnfishing66 Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 I have a Humminbird 1199 that I purchased 3 months ago. What battery do you prefer or have used for a unit like that? Also do you use alligator clamps or what kind do you prefer? Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted January 18, 2016 Super User Posted January 18, 2016 I have three units that size. All of mine are connected to a group 27 deep cycle battery with ring terminals at the battery and a 3A spade type fuse/holder at the battery for each one on it's positive wire. What is your application and why would you consider alligator clips? Quote
mnfishing66 Posted January 18, 2016 Author Posted January 18, 2016 I was wondering if let's say a cabela battery would be okay with the unit. Like this one http://www.cabelas.com/product/Cabelas-Rechargeable-Volt-Battery/700551.uts?productVariantId=1205523&srccode=cii_17588969&cpncode=37-142410604-2&WT.tsrc=CSE&WT.mc_id=GoogleProductAds&WT.z_mc_id1=00046500&rid=20 Do you have picture of the fuse holder or info on how to put one on. Super User Wayne P. Posted January 18, 2016 Super User Posted January 18, 2016 That battery may run the unit about 6 hours. Do a web search for the word SOLDER. Quote
Super User buzzed bait Posted January 18, 2016 Super User Posted January 18, 2016 i have a similar battery to the one you posted. wayne is right on, it runs my lowrance 4x hdi for about 6-8 hours. Typically closer to 6 hours before it loses battery power. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted January 18, 2016 Super User Posted January 18, 2016 The Humminbird Side Imaging unit uses more than twice the amps as the Elite HDI. Spec 1.3A Quote
mnfishing66 Posted January 18, 2016 Author Posted January 18, 2016 Any recommendation on battery for the amount of power I need coming from the 1199? Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted January 18, 2016 Super User Posted January 18, 2016 Depends on how long you need power and the battery weight you can tolerate. You haven't stated what your application is. Am not very good at this: Quote
