whittler Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Here are a few mini cranks, 1 1/4" long. A few foils in the mix with some regular paint. Quote
florida strain Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 pretty cool ..does the single hook work better than a trebble for you? Quote
BIG M Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 John, that's a fine looking batch of mini cranks. Quote
whittler Posted May 14, 2010 Author Posted May 14, 2010 Thanks guys, glad you like them. Florida strain, on these small baits the single hook works fine on the fish and comes through weeds and light cover great. Quote
Captain Obvious Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Look great, I have a question though. How do you get the wire though the computer chip lips? Capt.O Quote
Captain Obvious Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Captain Obvious, you drill a hole. Thanks man but I think I had that much figured out ;D I mean don't you have to make sure its in the dead center of the lip and how do you determine that? And how far into the body do you have the wire going? Quote
whittler Posted May 15, 2010 Author Posted May 15, 2010 Usually when I make lips make 4-8 at a time in any given pattern. The pattern is made by laying it out on 1/4" squared paper, marking a center hole from a centerline. Next I cut the pieces to rough size and fix them together with a very small amount of contact cement. This allows me to cut them to shape and drill the hole for the wire on all the lips at one time. I make the pattern from metal so I can always duplicate it again. Did not mean to sound like a wise guy, but wasn't sure what you meant. Quote
Captain Obvious Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Did not mean to sound like a wise guy, but wasn't sure what you meant. No offense taken, my question wasn't specific enough Quote
Bass Tracker 20 Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Those are sweet, I use to fish strike king itsy bitsy pond minnow in a creek and would slay smallies, I would love to throw those instead im diggin the single hook on the back, those tiny treble hooks bend easy and get stuck on every thing, and break easy. broncoboxer Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 I love the single hook. What brand and size did you use? Quote
whittler Posted June 2, 2010 Author Posted June 2, 2010 Broncoboxer, the hooks on those are VMC 1 octopus. Quote
