I Love BassResource Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 Its been a while since I've posted any pics so I thought I would post a group of rods I've finished over the past 2 weeks. There is a mix of Batson, MHX, and Castaway blanks. I use 3.5mm batson micros and 4mm Fujis, mostly skeleton seats save the aero spinning rod and the ACS seats. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 Very nice dick. I like the skeleton seats too. Some find them uncomfortable though. Quote
RobE Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 On the rod fourth from the top, it's hard to tell from the pics if those silver spots are bands or wraps. Either way, it looks good (all of them!). I'd fish it. Quote
rubba bubba Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Very nice. I like the metal band on the butts; a nice touch. Quote

Early on, I used some pre form butts for my first 2-3 builds and I actually I learned to somewhat copy them. The trim rings and rubber caps were bought from mudhole, and I turn down the top portion. topwater.va Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 I really like the minimalistic one with the skeleton grip and only half of a split grip. I want to try and make one of those. Quote
I Love BassResource Posted March 8, 2010 Author Posted March 8, 2010 great job, and excellent rods. Now put them to good use. Thanks, only one of the rods were built for myself, the rest were built for others.. Quote

the crab Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Great looking work there. How do you like the MHX blanks? Did those decals come from mudhole? Quote
Bubba_Bruiser Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 That is a nice batch of rods dick. It seems like the micro guide concept is really taking off. Quote

The MHX blanks are a great value, well worth what they cost. I'd easily compare them to blanks that cost twice as much. *cough* st croix *cough* I create/print my own labels, I've never bought them. Yeah, I've been using them for a while now, and it appears they're starting to make the swing into the main stream. It's really not a fad, imho they make a substantial difference when used properly.
