Also bank fish a lot locally. Any input or experience with either of these ? Kinda leaning towards the Sonarphone cause it uses wifi and not Bluetooth . http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ef_=pd_ybh_a_6http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ef_=pd_ybh_a_9 Thanks for any feedback spdbump Quote
Evan K Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 I have a Deeper and I really like it. The connection has almost always worked flawlessly. I had the fish hound version and it never worked for me- sent it back and got a Deeper. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted January 17, 2016 Super User Posted January 17, 2016 I don't use the castable version (T-Pod) of the Sonarphone, but I do use the T-Box version. Works great. I have the Sonarphone App on three smartphones and three tablets. The T-Pod has up to a 100 yard WiFi range. Copied from the website: "The SP100 T-POD is the most powerful portable WiFi transmitter in the world, and it easily fits into your pocket so you can take it anywhere, and yet it weighs only 4 ounces! SonarPhone will rival most high-end sonar on the market today. Using Patented WiFi signal technology to transmit a full color, HD quality signal right to your smart device. You don’t need cell phone coverage to use it, the SonarPhone will work anywhere in the world. SonarPhone creates its own WiFi hotspot and you can share your signal with as many people as you wish, the software App is downloaded for FREE from the App Store or Google Play and works with both Android and IOS systems." Super User DogBone_384 Posted January 17, 2016 Super User Posted January 17, 2016 I bought a Sonarphone in '11 or '12. I really like it. Range is always within casting distance and battery life is good. I can say it's durable too: I blew a cast and bounced it off a rock shore one day, crapped myself, but found it to work fine ever since. I don't use it much anymore because the tackle monkey sent his cousin, the kayak monkey, who coerced me into an Ascend 128T and FeelFree Lure 11.5, which I installed Lowrance fish finders on. Quote
Preytorien Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 I have the SonarPhone and it works very well. I pair mine to an iPhone and the app is very good and updated effectively. I admit though I've not used the iBobber. I would say though that it's only marginally helpful since it's not the easiest to cast. If manufacturers could get the cast-able portions of their products smaller they would be more practical....in my opinion. As far as functionally, it pretty much works identically to any other $100-150 boat mounted graphing. I really like it. Quote
