Super User Montanaro Posted January 17, 2016 Super User Posted January 17, 2016 Omg what is that? Smaller frame tatula???!!! Quote
kingmotorboat Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 I love the t wing for vertical drop presentation and I think it serves it's purpose great in that. 1 Quote

How was that even possible? They won't be available for 2 more weeks. Maybe you were able to help Doc fix the Flux capacitor? ? 2 Quote
drew4779 Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 I for one, have had no problems with the t-wing system. I can't say that it makes a huge difference either way but I understand the concept. I certainly don't feel this will hinder the reels performance. Quote

Super User kickerfish1 Posted January 17, 2016 Super User Posted January 17, 2016 I think Shimano has hit more "Home runs" than Daiwa has in 2015 and 2016 and I am now exclusively fishing both brands. I will let the dust settle and see what is left by spring when a few new things should be officially introduced by both parties. I have had my Tatula for about a year and half and haven't had any grooving issues. Love the reel just not crazy about the frame. At this point I don't have a strong preference on the T-wing system yet... 3 Quote

Bass2124 Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 I love the TWS on my Tatulas......Anyone who says it doesn't give extra casting distance must not be using braid. I use braid on all my reels and I get 30 extra feet easily compared to any other reels that I own. My favorite and most expensive reel is my Curado I but the Tatula blows it out of the water when it comes to chucking lures that need distance. Quote
Hogsticker Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Well on a positive note, Mag Force 3D is back. I'll let you all form your own pre release opinions. It looks bigger (tall &wide) than I'd like, as does the new Zillion. Gonna let someone else play guinea pig. 1 Quote
Hogsticker Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 MSRP to be determined. Something tells me it ain't gonna be cheap. https://translate.google.com/translate?depth=2&nv=1&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http://www.daiwaweb.com/jp/fishing/item/reel/bait_rl/steez_sv_tw/index.html Quote

What condition is it in? How much? My 50th is one of my favorite reels. It is a set and forget Daiwa. Let a guy use it for a bit one day. Said he had a b/c reel, but no longer used it because it would backlash after 3-4 good casts. Later he asked me "How do you backlash this reel?" 9 hours ago, Bass2124 said: I love the TWS on my Tatulas......Anyone who says it doesn't give extra casting distance must not be using braid. I don't find it to cast any further than many other reels. I would have to take it someplace on dry land where I could measure actual distance to verify any possible differences. Then I would have to have the same line on each reel and use the same rod and lure. Not going to happen. I am satisfied with its performance and that is all that matters to me. Quote

Super User rippin-lips Posted January 18, 2016 Author Super User Posted January 18, 2016 They were able to keep it very light at 5.5oz but it's definitely full bodied. 2 Quote
IAY Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 I like it a lot. FX68L is pretty wide reel, but sits and palms really well in my hand. Quote
Hogsticker Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 I'm not gonna lie, I like my girls a little thick, but this reel is a bit to robust. It still gets to wide at the front from the picture posted above. 1 Quote

It should be pretty comfortable for the way I palm. I'm going to buy one for sure now that I know it has 3D brakes... after I buy the new Antares DC of course lol Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted January 18, 2016 Super User Posted January 18, 2016 I give them props for going in a completely different direction with the shape. People said the Tatula frame was too wide, they definitely changed it. I am very curious to see how this one palms. Quote
smallie.mike Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Looks sweet to me, I want one for sure. doesn't look like that t-wing will have grooving issues. Quote
Cgrinder Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Fat bottom reels, you make the rockin' world go 'round. 4 Quote
