Hello just ordered some flies, gonna try some float n fly for smallies, I have watched all the videos i can find, and read the articles, it seems to be fairly popular in my area said it started on Dale Hollow Lake, But im not seeing a lot about specifics, Like line length from float, do you work it after the cast, and how would you work it, and any little things you all might know. I will be fishing a clear deep lake, 25 to 50 feet points,  Thanks Jeff

When I did it I used from 5-12' of line below the float, adjusting up or down as needed to get bit.  I pretty much would shake the rod causing the float to make little bobbing moves and bring it back slowly.

We start out at 9' - 10' and go up or down from there depending on what happens - Mike Bucca has a good article on how to cast the rig - not brain surgery but there is a learning curve - it has been an amazing producer for us this winter and I might add the most fun I've had in years with a new technique.

One of us shakes and one of us swims until you figure it out.
