Super User Montanaro Posted January 12, 2016 Super User Posted January 12, 2016 Anyone have one? Thoughts? I compared to a gen4 30 and it has a slightly slimmer profile (slide) and weighs a few ounces less but retains the 10 round double stack. I plan to CC in truck and kayak and trout fishing trips and think this may be perfect for that as well as suitable home defense. Thoughts? Quote
C0lt Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 ive shot them. Never personally been a fan of subcompact 45's, but to each his own. As far as concealed carry, it's defiantly an option. As far as home defense goes, you can defiantly use it, but optimally you would want something full sized, like the g21. I'm not saying you can't use a g30 for home defense, but if it were me, and it had to be a glock and it had to be a 45 I would want the full frame. Quote
dam0007 Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 30s is my EDC. People were buying the 30SF and putting the 36 slide on it for weight reduction. So Glock capitalized off it and came out with the 30S. Is it completely practical for EDC, idk??? It works for me. I used to carry the 19, a 9mm with 17rnd mags, but when they passed the law with the 10rnd mag limit I figured if I'm gonna be limited might as well have more power. The gun is a beast, super accurate and reliable. I put XS big dot sights on her and a talon grip. Love it! On January 11, 2016 at 10:13 AM, Montanaro said: Anyone have one? Thoughts? Super User K_Mac Posted April 5, 2016 Super User Posted April 5, 2016 I handled one a couple of weeks ago. I did not have the chance to shoot it. I was impressed by how it compared to my SR9c. It is a little thicker, but not much. If I were going to buy a Glock for EDC it would either be a 26 or 30. Quote
