went by today. Not much on sale, except some stuff nobody wants...Had some vmc trailer hooks marked down to 1.49, got them and a bama shirt for my boy.

Got home and the trailer hooks rung up 3.49, not the 1.49 as stickered on the rack...I usually look when ringing up, but the checkout girl was cute, and I had to double take the $26 price on the shirt and totally forgot about the hooks...ya, they got me.

By the way, is this 25% off chainwide across the country or is it certain regions/stores?  I'd hate to drive out to the two DSG's around here and not find the extra 25% off!

Blackshirt, I don't know for sure if the 25% off on clearance is at all stores. The ones I saw had varying quantities and types of baits on clearance, but not much else.  One place had a decent selection on clearance, another had almost nothing.  There is nothing that I've seen indicating additional markdowns in their ads, just at the stores.  A handwritten sign in the one yesterday said there would remain an additional 25% off through January. So I would call first before making a long trip.

Theres only scheels and gander mountain here in central Wisconsin. All sale items are things I wouldn't get/want and all the other nonsale stuff is ice fishing....how's a guy supposed to spend all his money?!

I can't say if it is nationwide, but it is ongoing at the two stores I have visited here in Orlando area. I went into Dick's store today and they had the fishing clearance displays blocking the front door so I guess they really want to sell that stuff and get it out of the store.

I bought a few lures and some Sufix 832 marked down to $14.97 and an additional 25% off that, so my price out the door was about 50% off retail.

And while I was there, the store was overhauling their fishing lures displays adding in some new DOA rubber baits which will be something to look forward to on sale because the DOA packages had like 12 pieces per bag rather than the standard 5 to 8 pieces we see for more money. So when those are marked down they will be a better value to stock up on.

I stopped by the two Dick's nearby.  Both had the 25% clearance on sale items, and one had a dedicated rack by the hunting section they put a bunch of stuff on.  Both places had 90% of the same SKUs on markdown.  I did get some punch skirts and tungsten weights, and got a *** Combat Frog on a whim (though reading reviews it looks like it takes on water and sinks).  I might go back and clear out the Storm Arashi cranks.  They did have Lew's Tournament Speed Spins at 25% off their discounted price but don't really need any more spinning reels.

I went to the DSG in Saugus, MA. I saw a few Abu Garcia Veritas rods for $75, Trokar hooks for $5.99, and a few lures here and there. I was expecting to see more fishing stuff on sale.

Matching BPS's full retail pricing.

Will have to check our local DSG to see
if the bad news is true.

Buy Yum Dingers.  Save almost $6 a bag every time.

I will have to go check them out. Don't think I will beat the deals I got last year when they had Berk plastics and Sebile cranks 2 for 5$ with a 5$ rebate on the purchase of 2 Sebile or Berk baits. Only paid for the tax on those. It is weird though how they seem to add and remove the extra off at random, it's not like they even take the clearance stock down to zip. I don't complain and stock up on what I can. The score card coupons can be winners too with these deals.

Oh I've used Dingers, but they're not go-to for me.

I actually use BPS Stik-O mostly, and only a couple colors
in GYCB that I can't get in other brands.

My DSG was almost too much for me to handle. The excalibur square bills for 2 bucks, arashi square bills for 4 bucks, shadow raps for 5, livingston jerkbaits for 5. There was an assortment of DTs and plastics for super cheap. Also 25% off of all fishing line. Hopefully your store is packed, because mine was.

Livingston cranks were half off so re-stocked up on those. The shadow raps were half off in only some colors so got some of those as  I heard good things and had none. VMC tungsten was half off so finally going to try out tungsten. Thats about it, nothing great but some ok deals.

We are at 25% here and holding.  I've had my eye on a veritas rod that's still hanging out in the clearence bucket.  If it gets down to <$40 like the 5 I bought a couple of years ago, i will get it quick!

Live target and Livingston are 25% off and I will probably get some this upcoming weekend.

There are two gloomis rods at 25%off $119 in there right now that are trying to make me buy them,  even though I have no use for them at all. Lol.

No monkey!   Bad monkey!

Lots of good stuff to be had though. I paid $11 for some nanofil just to give it a try next year.

You'll enjoy it...fantastic on spinning rods...no wind knots, very little line twist. Its just expensive.

Went to the one by me today. They have senkos for 6.49 plus 25% off. A few other odd ball items but nothing I was interested in. I did happen to grab a live target wake bait for $ 10 though. Everywhere else has them for $20 around me. So I feel i got a little bit of a deal anyway. The fishing section is pretty lame in the store closest to me. I will stick with academy and some of the crazy deals they have.

My local dsg hardly even cares about their fishing section. Thanks for the heads up I may actually go this weekend.

I don't have a Dicks sporting good or academy....lame.

Picked up a bunch of the Rapala shadow raps and the Lucky Craft SKR DR crankbaits for just under $5, and 3 packages of VMC spinshot dropshot hooks $2/ea.

Otherwise there really wasn't much to get excited about.

There we no sale signs at the Dicks in Canton CT. They had a bunch of stuff marked with the .97 but no additional markdown after that.

all after discount...

Where in Nor Cal ? I'm in Chico and haven't seen anything like this yet .

I went to the DSGs in Fremont and Dublin.  Just call and ask if they're participating in the extra 25% off yearly clearance, because it's storewide in all departments not just fishing.
