My wife and I just finished replacing the old keel protector.

That is a lot of work. It has been cold....so pulled boat in garage with work lights and a tiny heater.

hair dryer helped us pull the old keel protector off last weekend.

used goo gone and a lot of elbow grease to get old adhesive off last Sunday.

scuffed the area, cleaned and prepped as instructed. Then installed as instructed.

Bass Pro / Tracker wanted $199 labor to install........hope I made the right decision to do it myself.

I'm about to install one after I repair a few small nicks in the gel coat. What keel guard did you use the first time, and why did you replace it? I ask because I still haven't decided which to go with.

Megaware keel guard is both the old and new.

not sure how long the other was on the boat....previous owner installed it.

previous owner must have rubbed the keel on a rock or something because a small section was worn through and the keel exposed.

nothing wrong with the product.....did what it was supposed to do.
