bassinOUT89 Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Hey my fellow south floridians, I'm heading out to sawgrass recreation on Sunday. Wondering if anyone has been out there lately and if so, how has the bite been and what are they hitting on. Thanks Quote
topwaterrob Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 I haven't heard anything good about sawgrass in some time... You may be better off on the alley Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted January 9, 2016 Super User Posted January 9, 2016 FWC have been spraying the alley. I busted my butt last weekend over on Mm35 for 2 little fish. Lol!! Quote
bassinOUT89 Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 Those are not the things i wanted to hear haha. I do appreciate the replies fellas. Looks like it's going to be a grind. Quote
SoFloBassFiend Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Check out Holeylands or Holiday park instead. Loxahatchee has been fishing well also. Quote

Holiday reports have not been any better, water is pretty high. Holeylands, unless they have the pumps on you will locate fish. Lox has been producing. Best of luck if you do get out there. Beats not being out there. Lol... Quote

I mentioned those two as they are closer to the original area he was looking to fish. Haven't been to either but have been doing well in the north section of Lox. Quote
Frise Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Loxahatchee is my favorite place to fish down here. I catch the most on a gambler ugly otter there. Quote
bassinOUT89 Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 I'm renting a Jon, and I prefer sawgrass over Holliday because the boats are in better shape. I do appreciate the suggestions guys. 1 Quote

Just a little wind pushing before the rain rushed in, im not sure if the water was normal but it looked like it might have dropped a foot or two as you could see a color difference on the cat tails and trees. There still is a lot of water out in the conservation areas. If/when the water recedes this year, the fishing becomes unbelievable all over the Glades. Usually this begins in the Spring and lasts until the Summer rains begin. 1 Quote
Super User geo g Posted January 14, 2016 Super User Posted January 14, 2016 Drove down the Sawgrass Expressway today, the flood gates at the end of the Sawgrass east canal were wide open so they are moving a lot of water out of the recreation area. With current the fish will get more active especially where the flats hit the canal, Sawgrass may be a good choice as long as the water is moving. let us know how you do. Quote
Dalde003 Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Holey Lands has been on fire for me lately.. I go there often and always catch fish.. hit the main canal it has been producing lately.. nothing too big though maybe 2-4 lbs at best.. if you can navigate your way to Rotenberg its been lighting up out there also on the north end towards STA5/6.. good luck Quote
