clh121787 Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Details: 18.5 foot glass boat, edge 70# t.m. 8 years old. Problem: hellacious torque steer especially on high speed (speed 5). Most likely will upgrade to maxxum (don't really see the value return of fortrex) but if anyone could help I would really appreciate it.. regards, Clint Quote
Sprocket Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Just my opinion, but if you're over 40 take a good hard look at the fortrex. I got one when they first came out and really love it. So much easier to deploy and to store. And it's one helluva trolling motor. SE Kansas grass grower 1 Quote

SE Kansas grass grower You experience any torque steer while trolling on high speed Quote
Sprocket Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Well you definitely want to have your foot on the controls if you start out at the highest speed, but no worse than any other motor I've used. Actually a little better because it doesn't just jump to the highest speed. SE Kansas grass grower Quote
