Super User Master Bait'r Posted January 6, 2016 Super User Posted January 6, 2016 Hey all, the little dude is 9 now and I'd love to find him some fun and informative reading material about fishing. Anybody got any recommendations for a younger audience that could help him learn and stay excited in the off season? I know, Google is my friend, but I'm just wondering if anybody has something they really like rather than throwing a dart at a wall and hoping to score. Thanks in advance and cheers to a killer '16! corn-on-the-rob Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 If you subscribe to the BASS or FLW magazines, they provide a ton of good info. He may be more interested in the pictures until he gets a little older, then he will start to read the in depth stuff more and more, at least that's what I did when I was younger. 1 Quote
Big C Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 There's a bass fishing themed coloring book on TW. Quote
badhatharry Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 There are several listed on Amazon. Here's one: http://www.amazon.com/Kids-Gone-Fishin-Freshwater-Angler/dp/0865731292/ref=sr_1_7?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1452135196&sr=1-7&keywords=kids+fishing Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted January 7, 2016 Global Moderator Posted January 7, 2016 I always found the kids fishing books to be full of misinformation. My favorite reading books by then we're BassMaster and In-Fisherman. 1 Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted January 7, 2016 Super User Posted January 7, 2016 What does your local library have available? Wouldn't hurt to ask. I remember a few decades ago, the local library had zero sic-fi in their collection. I asked why not and now they have some - not a lot, but some. My guess is that the same thing applies to fishing literature. Quote
