For what they cost, they're a pretty big disappointment to me. The stitches around the zippers and cuffs came out in my first jacket and now my current one is doing the same. The main zipper broke on my old one after a little over a year of use, which was why I returned it. One of my velcro cuffs came unglued (that's right, it wasn't even sewn on), so now I constantly have a baggy sleeve and a 4-5 inch long piece where the velcro is supposed to be flapping around in the wind and interfering with my cast. The zippers on my current one aren't much better and constantly get stuck trying to zip or unzip them. They're warm and have kept me pretty dry, but I wouldn't buy them again knowing what I know now unless it was for a huge discount. Super User WIGuide Posted January 6, 2016 Super User Posted January 6, 2016 I haven't tried the Huk suit, but I've got the BPS parka. I haven't had the same issues at blue has had. It's been a great investment for me, keeps me warm and dry. I can add in my Columbia coat liner into the shell and it's as warm as my winter jacket. Fingers crossed that I don't have the same issues as Blue has, but I bought it used and I've had it for 2 years now and it's still going strong. Quote

IowaHusker28 Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 I just got the new 2016 Kyrptek Huk rain gear for christmas. The zippers seem very waterproof, the cuffs around your wrists also seem waterproof, and overall its not too bulky and its comfortable from what I can tell wearing it around the house lol. I did have to order it online, but it fits true to size. I will have to say from first impressions I am very impressed and can't wait to get some use out of it this year but this stupid ice needs to go away first. 1 Quote

I'm not a huge fan of the color yellow in general but it looks really good on the jacket and bibs, way less obnoxious than you would think. The black camo is sweet!!! Also, La Crosse is awesome. Quote

Yes they are, and they have some kind of tight plastic on top of them (almost like shrink wrapped around the zipper, but doesn't snag), I don't see a way that water gets in. Quote

JGBassinAL Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 I would highly recommend the Stormr Fusion suit. It's not the one that is gray and mostly neoprene, it is the black suit. I believe it retails between $500-$600. I have not gotten wet in it and it is extremely warm in the winter and it's not too hot in the summer. I got mine from Bass Mafia Tackle for much less than that. If you are interested in it you should contact them for a price! And no, I am in no way affiliated with them, this is the only thing I have bought from them. Quote

Not a drop of water got inside. The only downfall for me is the fact that I'm 6'7" and have longarms, they fit everywhere but I could use another half inch in the arms. For most this won't be a problem and really wasn't a problem I just would have liked them a tad longer there. They break the wind great and hold heat very well. The 100mph is a tad thicker and would be warmer in freezing temps, but they do good, but the stitching is crap. The huk gear is built well and has no stitching issues yet. I'd go Huk they are lightweight, warm , well built and keep you dry. That's my .02 Quote

I just don't understand how people can chime in about whether rain gear is good or not when they haven't even worn it in the rain. Smh. Anyway, I owned Frabill rain gear for the last two years and I've worn it maybe 4 or 5 times in either light rain or very short downpours. However, last weekend I had a tournament on a day where there was 25-30mph winds and a steady rain for the entire 8 hours. By 12pm I was soaked head to toe right through my rain gear into my underlying clothes. Luckily I had a change of clothes, backup bibs from west Marine and an extra jacket that got me through the day. Needless to say I'm looking for new Rain gear and in between the Stormr fusion gear and the Huk Next Level Gear. I know it's $700 for the Huk gear but I get 50% off so I'd only be paying $350. Do you have the reg rain gear or the Next level rain gear?  Quote

Only worn 3 times on boat in rain. I was at my sons lacrosse game 2 weeks ago & it was an absolute downpour & had suit on in driving rain. The only thing that was wet was my shoes, because they weren't waterproof. Also makes for a nice windbreaker in the spring & fall as it's pretty light.  Money well spent in my opinion. I've fished in the pouring rain for full days and I've never had an issue. I had a 10 day trip to Canada where it rained 9 of those days and I never got wet at all. So perhaps you got a dud suit? I'd contact Frabill and see if they will take care of you. I believe their suits come with a 3 year warranty.  As for the Huk gear, I bought the all weather suit this spring to give it a try because I've really liked all of the Huk gear I've bought the past few years. I've only worn it in a light mist so far, so I can't comment on how waterproof it is. It seems like a really nice suit. It's certainly a much thinner material than my F3 Frabill suit. This thinner material should make it more comfortable to wear during the warmer summer months. Quote

Â Did you follow the directions on the can? Water should bead up like a new wax job on your car/truck. Water can't get to the material but you must reapply every few years to keep it fairly fresh.
