A few members of my club are looking to escape the cold in March and head down to Lake Hartwell. Anyone got any thoughts on places to stay, probably be 4-5 boats going down.

did you see any footage of last year's classic?  i wouldn't call that escaping the cold!!

but seriously though, i won't be much help, but thought it might help if you clarified if you meant like motel, hotel or camping style?  With greenville so close by, you have a number of options to stay.  If trailer/camping was what you had in mind there are a ton of options, especially in March!

If you guys are wanting to put in at GreenPond Boat Ramp "Where the Classic Launched" Anderson has tons of hotels about 5 or so miles away Best Option Would be On Clemson BLVD In Anderson SC You Would Be right in the Middle of everything Plenty or restaurants/ Shopping Places to go when off the lake. No Decent Hotels Are near the boat ramp they all are about 5-10 miles away from it.

last year was a fluke, and it was still better down there than where we are in MD.

The plan is to stay for 4 days, and go for spots. Would be great to have a hotel or house rental that has docks with electric. Makes these trips a lot easier and more fun.

My inlaws live up past Clemson. They don't have room for us at their house. Whenever we stay up there we stay at the Hampton Inn right in Clemson. I've noticed a few bass boats in the lot.  It's nicer, but you won't get robbed there, LOL. And the breakfast is good, hot and included as early as you'll get up to fish. You can literally walk from the hotel to the lake.

If scenic is your thing, look up the Clemson outdoor lab. They have cabins and a private ramp. We stayed there for a wedding once. I was really wishing I was fishing.

There are plenty of Roach Motels around if you're looking to go cheap.
