Super User flyfisher Posted January 3, 2016 Super User Posted January 3, 2016 Green Mirror which is a copper base color 2 Quote
Lendiesel22 Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 I have blue and just ordered green. I put the green on in basspro and it allows alot more light in as it on an amber lense. The blue is a smoke lense. I have fished the blue for 2 seasons and love em. I cant wait to get the green ones on. High contrast. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted January 3, 2016 Super User Posted January 3, 2016 green mirror is not amber, it is copper base color. Quote

Super User flyfisher Posted January 3, 2016 Super User Posted January 3, 2016 There is a big difference between the two in my opinion that is the only reason i am calling it out...i am not a fan of amber based lenses at all. 1 Quote
papajoe222 Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Love my 580G's. (Green) Both for fishing and driving, which I do a lot more of. They really shine on bright, overcast days and bring out the contrast much better than my amber Oakleys. 2 Quote

Nole Basser Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 I just bought a pair. Go thru your optometrist if they deal in Costas. They will order them for you. On the pricey side but worth it if you need perscription sunglasses. I went with the copper lenses too for dual purpose. Plus i don't like the mirrored look. Steve 1 Quote

That is the only reason i went with plastic. Quote

Yes I went to the closest independant dealer. He advised me what frame would work best for my head shape & prescription. The frame I liked the best was not suitable for my prescription because of lense thickness. I gave him my updated prescription & he ordered them directly from Costa. They came in 4 days later. Instead of going to a large box retailer who sells Costas I looked for a optical shop. The optician can give you detailed info to make the best choice. I was told that the copper lenses offered the optimal sight penetration into fresh water & were the best driving lenses for daytime lighting. 2 Quote

The lens cracked but it did not shatter. May not be the norm but i figure in all my years of fishing that was the first time it happened so I should be good for a few more years hopefully lol Quote

But to be honest before I'd let a lure hit me in the face I'd try and catch it with my hand, I'd much rather pull some hooks out of my hand rather then my face. 1 Quote
