Hey

I am looking to replace my rear hook on my shadow rap with a feathered one. I just want to know what size the hook

is so i don't put on a hook that is to small or to big.

Stock hooks are size 6 VMC.  I had to replace a rear hook after breaking a tine removing it from my third smallie in an hour my first outing with it.

FYI, I think TW usually has that kind of info in their descriptions.

Why do you want a feathered treble on that bait? I really like that jerkbait as it does give the fish a different look but a feathered treble will hurt that bait more than help it. The reason is the bait is meant to be erratic but not like an X-rap,  the bait doesn't dart, it is more of a glide with a subtle tail kick. I would imagine a feather treble will catch some water and keep the bait from moving very much and may even cause it to sink on a more level field rather than nose down as there is a little extra weight with the feathered treble. So I'll put that out there but if you want the perfect match just buy the VMC size 6 X-rap tail hook, they are sold in packs of 2.

I just checked and it wasn't on there but thanks for the information. I am ordering a few now.

To be honest I love this bait but the two I bought both cracked on the bottoms. Neither one of them where hit off rocks or bounced off the boat. The cracks are very some but allowed water in the bodies and the baits action no longer is there due to it filling with water. The bee bees also rusted and now have stuck together. But I am looking to switch out other jerk bait hooks but am looking to buy this bait again maybe give it another shot.

I think with the feather tails it will make the bait move less in the water but have the same actions keeping it in the strike zone longer. Even if it doesn't fall nose down I am ok with a slow diving action.
