Jeff Browning Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 I posted this as a reply to another post - sorry, I don't have board experience. Anyway, about me... Retired military, now in the oil/gas industry. Moved down from Alaska and am just learning to fish around here. I've caught Walleye, Crappie, Saugeye, Sauger and catfish but no bass yet. I'm targeting small mouth but any fish is fun to catch. I fish mostly the Ohio River above and below the Montgomery Dam and go a few near by lakes when I can. This year I plan to expand where I fish to lakes and rivers further away. I bought my fist (bass) boat about 18 months ago and it has really changed how and where I fish. I'm addicted!! I hope to fish some tournaments this year - I love to compete in anything, it's all about having fun for me!! 1 Quote

Racerx Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Hey, Jeff. Welcome! I live in the South Hills section of Pittsburgh. Glad to another yinzer, on board, even if not a native one. If you're looking for lakes, the obvious I guess would be Erie, Lake Arthur, Keystone Lake, Pymatuning and Cross Creek Lake. As someone who just got into bass fishing, myself, this past year or so, I am slowly getting out and hitting certain lakes when I can, in the area, albeit smaller ones not mentioned. Next season, I plan to up my game and visit the above mentioned, though. Tight lines to ya! 1 Quote

We visit on occasion. What's the hotspots, there, for bass fishing? I picked out St. Mary's for a trip. I was the only one who caught a LMB. The others caught some Red Ear, and that was it. 1 Quote

Jeff Browning Posted January 1, 2016 Author Posted January 1, 2016 Thanks for the welcome guys. RacerX, I have a 50hp motor which limits my access to some lakes. If you, or anyone in the area, want to fish or talk about it or share experiences etc. I'm up for it. Lake Milton, Mosquito, Shenango and Tappan are about an hour from me. I too plan to explore more this year. I'd like to try the Detroit River and Lake St. Clair - I need more experience for Lake Erie. I've heard the weather can come up fast. 1 Quote
