Phauren Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 I just got a Duckett Terex 7'0 heavy after enjoying the one my buddy had. Looking for something > 250 that can handle being my chatter bait set up. Give me some ideas fellas Quote
EricTheAngler Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 A revo beast might work like the guy below me said! Quote
Robert Riley Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 I'd go for a Lew's SuperDuty in 6:1. EDIT: Or a Abu Beast! 1 Quote
Phauren Posted December 28, 2015 Author Posted December 28, 2015 I will check them out, I would love to buy used but the wife gave me a gift card to the local tackle place. 1 Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted December 28, 2015 Super User Posted December 28, 2015 Shimano Curado CU200I http://www.basspro.com/Shimano-Curado-I-Series-Baitcast-Reel/product/13112808013242/ 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted December 28, 2015 Global Moderator Posted December 28, 2015 You don't need anything special to fish chatterbaits. I use a Lew's Speed Spool 6.4:1 and it works great. Quote

WdyCrankbait Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Those reels mentioned above look like a good place to start. Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted December 28, 2015 Super User Posted December 28, 2015 I'll throw it out there just because, why don't you get yourself a Quantum EXO. Can find them for around $150, or if you like the TourMg100 which can be had if you look for right about $210 where both the EXO 100 retails at $249 and the TourMg at $289. Both solid reels and very light. I have both. If you get the TourMg, go with the 7.1, same IPT as the 6:6.1 EXO 100. Quote
Phauren Posted December 28, 2015 Author Posted December 28, 2015 @gulfcaptain that was my original idea but they dont have either at the store near me. Might just wait till my birthday next month for those. Quote

bhoff Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 You could probably find an OG Daiwa Zillion pretty easily for this price. Quote
Phauren Posted December 29, 2015 Author Posted December 29, 2015 I just screwed up, spent way more money then I wanted to and came home with a Patriarch XT 30x spinning reel, now I just need to find a rod for it lol. I ended up getting a revo beast for 175 at the shop. Feels good on the rod. Going to try and hit up a farm pond near me soon 1 Quote
WPCfishing Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Buy the reel that feels best in your hand. Any of the major makers build a quality reel and offer a good warranty. I personallly like Lews reels. Quote
bigfruits Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 If you can spend a little more, I would recommend a 13MetaniumHG. You can get them for around $275 shipped from Japan Lure Shop. I ordered mine on a Saturday and got it that Monday. From Japan! https://japanlureshop.com/shimano-13-metanium-right-6156.html Quote
