mikeh22 Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 Is 30# braid with a diameter of .012'' strong enough to pitch docks? The docks I fish don't contain very much cover other than rocks and boulders. Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted December 27, 2015 Super User Posted December 27, 2015 Short answer.....yes. 30lb braid is strong enough to do a lot of things with. I've punched and flipped with it and use it for frog fishing. You shouldn't have any problems. Quote
Super User rippin-lips Posted December 27, 2015 Super User Posted December 27, 2015 #30 is plenty but be aware that braid isn't the most abrasion resistant against things like rocks. Quote
mikeh22 Posted December 27, 2015 Author Posted December 27, 2015 Awesome. Thanks a lot for your replies! Quote
Super User deep Posted December 28, 2015 Super User Posted December 28, 2015 Not in my book, no. If you insist on 30# braid, at least use a leader for abrasion resistance. Quote
papajoe222 Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 I fish 30lb. Seaguar Kanzen on both Geneva and Delavan pitching and skipping docks. The only problem is the pike cutting off, but braid, fluoro, or mono that is going to happen. Landed a 39in. pike with that line, no problem. Quote
