Gamec0cks5 Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Ok so I wanna make my Predatorbassbaits.com wake bait. I wanna make it into a TFS. So my question to y'all is what's the best way to go about this? I have done a white base coat of createx. I was thinking about throwing on a black back with some scales then possibly a gill. I was considering painting a red or orange part on the underside of the throat area ideas? Here are some pics of the bait on his website. Here is the Shad: Quote
BIG M Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 I do not think you have to very particular with the colors. Here is how I paint it, Pearl white base coat, silver on shoulders, black or blue scaled over silver, black or blue back stripe, light red on throat, yellow lateral line. I will change that up and use grey scales over silver with an organge throat. Sometimes I use transparent chrome or grey in place of the silver. No right way to paint this pattern imho. Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted April 9, 2010 Super User Posted April 9, 2010 yeah like big m said, no real right way to paint anything. if i were painting it, based off that picture, i'd paint the whole thing white, then the whole thing in pearl white, then pearl silver through netting over the back and shoulders, very light pearl copper lateral stripe, then paint black gills, black spot, and really light black over the back. BobP Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 I'd silver foil it, do a light gray/green back and give the head and tail a few minor brownish yellow accents. Just a pearl white belly. Pretty mundane, but also pretty much like shad. The trend is to put lots of colors on crankbaits but IMO it's often best to limit color and contrast if you want a natural look. Color will get you noticed, yes, but it can also give off negative vibes. Quote
