Molly screws?

I'll be doing some mods to my BR during the of season. Ill be using various mounts to hold a paddle, fishfinder, shallow water anchor etc. Should I use mollys and sealant or is the boat's plastic thick enough to hold on to the screw?

Im not entirely sure what you are talking about. I recently did a few mods on my kayak and can say when it comes to plastic, rivets are the way to go. I attached flush mount rod holders, extra deck loops and more.

I think molly is a generic term.  There is an anchor available at Lowes that is made to be used on hollow core doors.  It works great on fiberglass showers and BR's.  I don't know if I can explain it without demonstrating it, but, here goes.  Drill the specified size hole. Insert the anchor with the screw into the hole.  Tighten the screw as tightly as possible by hand.  Remove the screw, leaving the anchor installed in the boat. Use the screw to attach your accessory to the anchor.  Hope this helps.

by mollys, I meant those anchors you put in drywall to hold up a shelf  or something with out hitting a stud. its very much the way you describe it except you leave the screws in.

I was going to ask about rivits. Thanks, I'l look into it

i hate putting any holes in my kayak, but i only put rivets in the holes.... nothing seems to work better in my opinion.  Those Tri-Grip rivets are worth the extra money too for putting into the kayak....
