I'm transitioning a finesse setup to braid, so I need a good leader in 6-8lb. I will only be using this line for leaders on this setup and I would like something that won't break the bank.

Something that won't break the bank will be
Yo-Zuri Hybrid, or P-Line Floroclear.

I use both from 4 to 15 lbs as leaders on all of
my spinning/casting setups.

I use 8lb sniper to 20lb braid.  For me I only put on about 6' at a time so a spool last a LONG time.  Well worth it IMO.

I just use whatever I have laying around a lot of the time. Usually just save a spool once there isn't enough line to spool another rod and use that for leader material. Pline C21 makes a great leader material.

I fish hybrid as a leader pretty often, but not typically on my finesse rods.  When I think finesse, I think small diameter and super limp. Hybrid in 6-8lb is comparable to 8-12lb lines in both diameter and strength, and while it's super abrasion resistant, it's not very limp.  I use 7lb Sniper as my typical go to, but Seaguar Invisx is also a great option and not super expensive.

Just curious but why do you think it is worth it to go with Sniper? Just trying to pick your brain.

Like I said I'm only using let's say 8' per leader tied.  So one spool lasts me a season or 2.  I personally really like snipers sensitivity. It might be a little more expensive but as I said a single spool lasts a while so the cost is worth it.

Go with a good mono/ copoly in the correct diameter. I use Sufix Elite/ Siege.

I use the Sniper because I can get it in 7# test, seems 6 is too small, 8 too big, OK I'm strange.
