Gotta' love friends was pretty breezy out there. Now we're going post frontal with NE winds - good times - LOL. -T9 17 hours ago, BassassinX said: Any one have any suggestions for Morse reservoir this Saturday? Never fished it, Any ideas would be greatly appreciated thanks If you really want to keep it pretty simple, spend most of your time in the large protected bay with the small island out front (Party Cove) on the lower right hand side of the lake fishing post spawners around docks and emerged vegetation (water willow) and also the main causeway bridge area (Carrigan Rd) including the right hand shoreline between it and the ramp. Two of the most consistent areas on the lake. -T9 2 Quote
Alan Reed Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 A guy I work with in my new position told me about a location my house to fish so we have been fishing there all week after work. I just fished for an hour and caught 4 with the largest being 18 inches long and weighing 2.3 lbs. Not a bad start to the weekend. Going camping at Monroe this weekend so we will see how that goes. I've heard it is tough fishing. Quote
OddChase Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Crappie are full on under docks if anyone is itching to catch some. Took 45 minutes to catch 50 this evening. I'm starting to fish some new waters so bass reports are going to be slow. Also - favorite baits for fishing underneath bridges? These are bridges that are crossing mouths to fingers off the main lake. I'm thinking about drop shot, fluke wasn't working for me today. The water is about 20 ft deep under and coming up to the bridge, which is substantially deeper than the water before coming to the bridge. Quote

No, I'm fishing my club, Johnson county Christian Bassmasters. Thank you for your suggestions Quote

Seems like they either grab it on the fall or while I was bouncing it along the bottom. 1 Quote
tstraub Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 I've thrown 3 colors or ned rig. June bug, pb&j and green pumpkin/orange. Had a few bites but no hookups. The lake I'm on is only 22 acres and not a lot of places I can throw an exposed hook. I've probably been fishing it wrong. I try to drag it but end up in the weeds so I've been swimming it over the weeds is just not producing fish yet. 1 Quote

Today I was fishing a pond that was about 2 acres, I was slowly bouncing it to the weed line, then just letting it sit for a minute, then I'd jiggle it around to make it shiver. I ended up cleaning off weeds after every retrieve though. 1 Quote

But my favorite rod is my blackout and it always has a T-rig tied on so it's hard to set down that rod and go with lighter tackle. I'm just stubborn that way lol. Quote

Being stubborn is what gets the big fish. I'm impatient unfortunately, which is what gets the little fish Quote

I once read about a guy who uses a weedless wacky hook (the ones with a wire that locks behind the barb of a hook) and he puts a TRD on it and fishes it on a straight retrieve through the salad. Not sure about getting a fish out of the muck, but he was able to get them to hit without dragging a few pounds of weeds in every cast. 1 Quote

tstraub Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 I got to the campground about 7pm last night and heard the should have been hear earlier story. My father in law caught 6 bass in about 20 minutes in the morning. Pattern was throwing a pumpkinseed worm into about 3 feet of water near the beach and working it down a drop off into about 12 feet of water. We tried the same thing in the evening and boated a few. Then again this morning. He got one and I got 1 my son got skunked. Attached is a picture of the big fish 17 1/4 inch. I beat him by 1/4 of an inch. 1 Quote
dsqui Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 took a good buddy of mine out this morning for some musky. his first trip for them ever we were both kinda worried he would be bored not catching a whole lot but he really enjoyed it. we actually got skunked but he managed to make it a full 8 hours. we only seen one fish, he got a follow on about his 5th cast, fish was right around forty so i think that really helped him make it the rest of the time he hasn't really ever seen anything that big before. seen some really nice bass but none of them wanted anything to do with the oversized gear we were throwing which really caught me by surprise usually the "d**n green carp" hammer the bigger lures since its something they really don't see often. all n all the final score was fisherman 0 fish 1 but it still turned out to be a great morning on the water Quote
frosty Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 Took the family fishing. We decided to hike about a mile to a small pond. That was canceled just as we arrived at the pond due to a club out of Indy doing a youth outing. We decided it would be best to leave. As much as I hate to say it that really frustrated me, I guess I just wasn't planning on sharing the pond with about 20 other people after a long hike. The joys of public waters. We went to a public park with a couple ponds, didn't get skunked but it was a really slow bite, probably due to not getting started until after 10. Quote
