Finally got a couple fatties.  They hit a spinnerbait close to the bank just five minutes apart.  Also, never mind the cold. It must be spring because I just had my first run in with a goose.  No warning, just swooped down out of the air and meant business.  One slap with my rod and flapping my "wings" and I managed to stay out of trouble.

What do you think guys, chatterbait up shallow? Maybe a square bill? It’s stinking cold but I’m dying to get out!

That's what I caught mine in yesterday. All less than 3 ft of water

Taking my son with me, he says we are going to catch a 10! I wish I was still young and optimistic like that :D

Annnnd he was wrong! Got a big 0. That’s ok, it was tough out, blue bird sky’s, high muddy water and cold wind... I did get a few hours of father son time in so that makes it all good!

I went out for a short time today. Water is still pretty muddy. But I caught my first bass of the year. It was a dink. Caught it on a Pepper's Custom Baits spinnerbait with a Rage Swimmer trailer. Caught him with the trailer hook.

The bite has been very tough the last couple days. Hoping with the warm weather the next few days the fish get fired up.

I bet with the sun and warm temperatures they’ll be moving this weekend, and I’ll be in Michigan visiting inlaws:angry:

Got a surprize this afternoon.  Was cranking my Rippin' Rap when my phone rang and I let the lure flutter down.  Then this happened. (Didn't answer the call). Sorry for the rotten pic but cats don't lay flat like bass.

It was a lot of fun.  Landing was a bit of a challenge. The hooks were outside of its lower lip.  I've got a gadget that I wear on my lipping thumb called Fisherman's Thumb.  Saves a lot of wear and tear on good numbers days. You have to be careful when releasing, though because it acts like velcro and can go with the fish if you're not careful.

Does anyone know what's going on at potoka? I've got a tournament there next weekend and have no idea what to expect, this weather has things so wacked out idk if they're shallow near spawning areas of it they're still mainlake or what. If anyone knows the water temperature, clarity, or what the fish are doing let me know.

Grandpa and mom's bf fished it today. Chocolate milk. I know they caught 1 on a kvd 2.5. Will ask more details and report back. 25Mph steady wind today so very tough

Hit a private stone quarry today around 5:00p, crazy wind but good was a good day.

I get bored fishing Yum Dingers & like to learn new techniques, so I kinda stopped using them for awhile. The bite was slower than I expected today so I popped a yum dinger on (the bigger ones) and landed my personal best on the 2nd cast! 6lb 12oz. Big prespawn fatty filled with eggs.

I needed something like that last spring! My thumb was all cracked and raw from lipping so many bass, and I freakin’ LOVED IT! Hopefully I can rip all the skin of my thumb again this spring!

The bass were on fire today. I caught 32 with 5 over of them 17.75 inches or bigger. With the biggest coming in just under 6 lbs.

My youngest son and I got Wildcat Creek outside of Greentown yesterday to test my new to me Jon boat for leaks after I had a crack welded.  The good news is we kept the water out out the boat. Bad news is we also kept most of the fish out of the boat.

Not a single hit on bass we got a few small bluegill and he got a decent channel cat on a worm under an bobber.  All in all a good day for fishing and a bad day for catching.

i love that reel.  It handles low test braid very well.  Not a fan of shimano baitcasters but I have two of those stradic ci4's.

I don't care for the EVA knobs that came with them.  The handle on the 1000 seems a little short, too. That's a 2500 handle with a left handed (BNT 4240) knob. Hard to tell by my flip phone camera pic.

Hit Geist on Friday.  Water looked like yoohoo, even down by the dam.  Saw countless trees and stumps floating around.  The 40mph wind gusts weren't helping much either.  I ventured into almost every cove but couldn't find any clean water.  Fished for about an hour in the least muddy water I could find and finally caught a dink off a laydown to avoid the skunk.  On Saturday afternoon I hit a gravel pit and lit them up with a jig and a neko roboworm.  My guess is that any lake with a dam is gonna be muddy for another week or so.

I want to be cool like Andrew Luck.  I just don't navigate well on a smart phone. I'm a relic.

My old flip phone never tracked me... (insert favorite tinfoil hat emoji here)
