I'm a huge fan of the Xcaliber One Knocker, particularly Rayburn Red, gold black back, chrome blue back, and chrome foxy. I've been using the Berkley Warpig for a few weeks now and it seems to be a really nice bait that's been producing fish very well for me. I'm probably going to give the RES Tungsten 2 tap a try shortly.

I'm going to say Rat-L-Trap, but that is just because I have used them for years.  I haven't used the Red eye shad that much.

Try them all.  One will out fish the other on a particular day.  I fished a bank tournament, a few months ago, and the flavor of the day was made by a company called Sebile.  I started off with a Red Eye, moved to a Rat-l-trap, and then to a Sebile Vibe Machine in an orange craw color.  Caught 21 bass in the next 2 hours.  Each has a different sound.

If I had to choose- SK. But I use sebile liplese cranks since getting my first in MTB, and am catching more fish.

My trap box probably weighs 7-8 pounds. The traps I have mostly include RES, Xcalibur, Spro Aruku Shad, LC LV500, and the Bill Lewis. If I could only have one for the rest of my life it would most likely be the Aruku Shad. That being said the Bill Lewis would be a close second.

Square bills do not have the same rattle or vibration of a Trap.

Once I find the rhythm (depth & speed) I simply guide the Trap with my rod on a path to collide with wood.

Do I get hung up? Yelp! I just go get it!

The only thing I do no others do is kneel-n-reel!

In the true spirit of the Gift Giving Season, you've given away yet another gem Catt - "Crashing Traps".

Sometimes It's Pretty Killer.

And I'll add that if one switches out the treble hooks for double's (think little frog hooks) with the business ends pointing up - hanging up is reduced quite a bit.

btw- crashing traps is pretty tough on the paint job and definitely not for the faint of heart.

My most productive lipless cranks seem to be xcalibur, both the regular version and one knockers. I have really tried to like the RES but they just don't produce for me. I also like the 6th sense lipless cranks, I have a silent version that has caught me lots of fish.

This is what I'm finding with the RES. Tennessee Shad and Gold/Black are my favorites and they seem to be the worst to chip. Once it starts, forget about it. 

If I'm casting to the bank, slow rolling, I like the Rat-L-Trap. If I'm stroking in deeper water, it's the RES.

Better have deeper pockets cuz you are going to loose a few, you can, to a certain point, reduce the amount of loses, reel with your rod tip sticking high and don't allow the bait to sink too much.

I guess that is life. I tried using a plug retriever from the bank. Total disaster.

Traps come in more weight sizes & color options than any other lipless crank.

Each brand has distinct rattle sounds & vibrationd so I pretty much throw em all.

While many anglers like ripping em through grass I like ricocheting em off wood!

I probably have a half dozen different brands of lipless cranks in my tackle box. I've caught fish with all of them at one time or another.

Just keep trying them until you find what works on that day and in that location.

Ever since I started throwing the red eye shad it is all I have bought when it comes to lip less cranks. They have a very good color selection and I have caught a lot of fish on them.

Btw lipless baits work when chipped, faded ,scratched .just like crankbaits the rougher they get the better they get.

I like the Rapala Rippin' Raps -- you can cast them a mile, great vibration because of a cup-like shaped nose.  I've caught largemouth with it on the Connecticut River w/ 42 degree water temps.  The Seblie Flatt Shad is good too, a bit more expensive.

You ever tried the Bill Lewis Echo 1.75? They are flat sided with the same rattle profile as a 'Trap.

Nice! Haven't fished mine yet. Thought it would be good for stained water with active fish though, which is mostly what I fish.
