There is a new i model coming in February! Instead of a 50 model they're calling it a 70 size. Here's a picture. If it doesn't come up pm me and I can tell you the website.

This is gonna cost me more money.

I was hoping also for a 300 series

I have thoroughly enjoyed curado I all summer into winter.

I was going to get the new I but now I will probably just wait for this one. Guessing it would probably be about $20 more than the starndard size I. As I recall the Curado 50E was more than the 200E when it released.

The only thing I wish was possible is putting the 50 size aftermarket spools in it. It will be awhile before we get a good amount of aftermarket parts for this one.

Sweet!!! I was gonna pick up a 200I but I think im gonna hold out..

On that website it shows that theres going to be a HG model and XG model. Would it be same to assume that the XG model would he in the 8:x:1 range?

The XG is going to be a 8.2:1 ratio.

Glad they announced before Christmas. I still have time to take the wife and kids' presents back so I have cash to put a  couple pre-orders in.

Great news for fans of the smaller capacity Shimanos!  Although, my first thought was that instead of paying $200 for this new reel, I'd if at all possible kick in another $70 and get another JDM 2015 Aldebaran...

For those that are patient, perhaps waiting for a while after release will yield some savings if that $200 retail prices ends up getting discounted eventually.

That 150 of 10 lb has to be wrong. That's what the 200s hold. Then it reads 70 of 14 lb. Think it's supposed to read 105 of 10 lb. Looks like a nice little reel that should make a lot of folks happy.

It isn't the "new curado I". It's a smaller framed version of the current Curado 200I. Same idea as the Curado/Chronarch 200e vs Curado/Chronarch 50e. Smaller frame, less line capacity, lighter spool, (now) faster gear ratio in the XG.

I'm curious why it is the "70" instead of the normal "50". Wonder if the frame isn't quite as small as the curado/chronarch 50.

Either way, high gear ratio is the only thing that peaks my interest on these. Otherwise..eh.

Perhaps  this reel will hold its value better than the 200i.

Just like the 50e normally  holds better resale  value  than the 200e.
