rchiuz Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Hi all, I have been fishing the C-9 Snake Creek Canal for a while and I am looking for a change of scenery. Are there any canals anyone could recommend for a bank fisher? Safety comes in mind since I usually fish on my own. Thanks in advance! Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted December 21, 2015 Super User Posted December 21, 2015 One of the best things of South Fl, are the endless amounts of canals. Google Earth is a valuable resource in this situation. Quote
Fentawn Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 I went fishing at the canal on the north side of AD Barnes Park this past Saturday, although I only caught one Peacock it was a nice one. I had other bites but had the line snap twice trying to pull it up from the water level to the bank where I was at. Its like a 5 ft drop off so I guess I need a net next time. Here the pic of the pea that i caught. 1 Quote

It didn't help the water seemed low with no activity. Quote
Super User soflabasser Posted December 23, 2015 Super User Posted December 23, 2015 Try the C-14 canal. Its loaded with bass and exotic fish. Quote

Gotfishyfingers? Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 Look on google maps, Like Lou said, the canals are endless around here. Look out west like Pembroke pine, Miramar, Weston if your looking for spots in broward but close to dade. Quote

SFL BassHunter Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 Sadly Jonny I have been out to Tamiami Trail several weekends in a row now and have been skunked every time. The water levels are extremely high, and I'm not even seeing any bass. Water is very clear right now. Very little signs of life other than mullet. Tamiami has produced in the past for me but not recently. Quote
Fentawn Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Caught a bowfin and alligator gar on the C-1 black creek canal earlier today. Only 1 largemouth. Way out west close to krome ave. Quote
