Anyone have any experience with Lucky Craft rods?

Yes, they are really nice rods.  Cork is excellent.  Finish is really good for a $100 rod, but make sure you get a Fuji hook keeper as there isn't one on the rod.

They are a bit on the "heavier" side, but for $50?!?!?  The warranty is odd, $75 no questions replacement...  only through a dealer that actually participates in the warranty program.  BUT...  $50...

The cranking rods are glass, so I'm sure they are heavy....but $50?!?

Does anyone have suggestions as to what lures the BDS model would be good for? Would it be okay for squarebills and lipless cranks or is it more of a mid to deep cranking rod?

It was designed for the Lucky Craft BDS crankbaits, but it will be fine for squarebills and lipless cranks.

I gave in too. Got a Powell Max 3D ML spinning rod on the way. It'll be my dropshot/finesse rod, replacing my M St Croix Premier. Used a gift card too, so it came out to $90 for the rod. I have to say that's not too bad, I think. I was eyeing up the swimbait rod until I finally asked myself where I'm going to use huge swimsuits around here, lol.

It'll be my first Powell so I'm curious to see how I like it and how it stands up to my O m e n  B l a c k s.
