bigfruits Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 I wish that a few of my loved ones would switch over to vaping. A lot of my friends do it, and it's comical to watch. anyone who vapes needs to read this article and make sure your juice does not contain the chemicals discussed: http://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2015/12/popcorn-lung-seen-in-e-cigarette-smokers i recommend making your own nicotine/pg/vg mixture and adding RY1 extract (check out wizard labs). drop the nicotine by a couple mgs every 2 weeks or so. 1 Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted December 16, 2015 Super User Posted December 16, 2015 All this talk about vaping..does anyone really believe that it's a safe alternative to cigarettes? The day will come when all of a sudden, oh it's just as bad but nobody told the public because profits were too good. Lest we forget, cigarettes were actually promoted by Dr.s at one point.. 3 Quote
bigfruits Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 if you were a smoker and then vaped you would feel the benefits very quickly. there is no tar. vape juice is propylene glycol and/or vegetable glycerin, nicotine and whatever flavor is added. no flavor is bitter but doable. Quote

The day will come when all of a sudden, oh it's just as bad but nobody told the public because profits were too good. Lest we forget, cigarettes were actually promoted by Dr.s at one point..With all of the science and research available today, knowing what the ingredients are in my juice, and knowing these ingredients are GRAS, pretty sure it's magnitudes safer that tobacco!!I'm not going to kid myself and declare it 100% safe, but some research and tests show it's no worse than the air we breath on a daily basis. I find that a little hard to believe unless I'm driving behind a bus all day long! Too much water will kill you...... Quote

You're funny. Dig a little deeper with the research. Look at a group called CASAA. PG when vaped at insanely high temps you might have trace amounts. Nobody in their right mind would find that satisfying. Look at all the known carcinogenic chemicals in a burning cig and tell me that's better!! 1 Quote
68camaro Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 I smoke cigars, probably only 1 a week on average, rarely two a week. I do really enjoy it though. Congrats to OP for quitting cigs though. Quote

I vape 0 nicotine juices though. I smoked for almost 30 years, like most loved to smoke and enjoyed it, I have switched over to Vaping myself, same actions without all the toxics! If you are a smoker that just can't let it go, I would highly recommend this option! 3 Quote

I.rar Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Grewt job kicking the habit Been vaping a few years and got down to 3mg but am now back up to 12. I really enjoy velvet cloud vapors offerings. Very tasty. I even vape their unflavored liquid as is. I use the simple kanger ego style batteries and clearos. They're simple, they work and I won't hate myself dropping it. 1 Quote

It's referred to as harm reduction. Nicotine is no more addictive than caffeine when used in vaping. It's when you add all the other ingredients in cumbustable tobacco that you have the as you call it "addiction." Some people need the ability to ween themselves from the harmful to get to the point where they can quit. Quote

Cigs -cigars - vales - pipes - all that stuff is just nasty. Vapers, expelling a cloud of vapor out of their lungs into a shared atmosphere is nearly as stinky/nasty/unhealthy as cigs are. My primary issue is the delivery system. YOU bought the cig/cigar/vape/ pipe , whatever. You should smoke every micro particle of it. Don't feel like you have to share it with me. If I wanted some, I'd buy some. Lighting / vaping up in a shared atmosphere is rude at the least, and to my mind it is a chemical assault and should be prosecuted in the same manner as other assaults are. It's unfortunate that you think that way about ecigs and vaping. It would be great if you did a little research before you make such broad generalizations. Second hand smoke and second hand vape are two totally different animals. Assault......... Really........... Quote
I.rar Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 I agree about the vaping inside a public area. Can't you just wait to go outside to get your fix? I don't vape around my kids at home, why should you at the mall/restaurant/store etc? It's rude, inconsiderate and should be treated the same as smoking tobacco in public. Also some of the flavors people vape aren't that pleasant smelling. 2 Quote
quanjig Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 If there is no smoking posted, I don't vape, that's how I approach it. I totally understand that, if folks are abusing the situation, it would be a problem. I, when I vape, do so in such a manor that doesn't bother anyone. I do it away from others and don't blow my vape at anyone, that's just rude. Mid there is ever a question if I should or shouldn't, I don't. If someone doesn't have a problem with it and they say something to me, I stop. Like I've said before, I'm not a "clouds bro" vapor person but know they are usually the ones that bring negative attention. Respect for others is not very common but I do my best to be very respectful in everything I do!! 2 Quote
Super User HoosierHawgs Posted January 1, 2016 Super User Posted January 1, 2016 There are no laws regarding what is put in vapor juices. It does not make you look very esteemed either. If you "need something to do" or a "hobby" go fish. Not vape. Quote

If you "need something to do" or a "hobby" go fish. Not vape. You are absolutely correct, but if you look close enough, you will see there are only 3or 4 ingredients in eliquid, all of them are GRAS or generally regarded as safe by the FDA. it amazes me that some of you will throw out info that deamonizes this industry with very little background other than what you hear on the news. Fearmongering at its finest. Do a little bit of reading and research before you just chuck out statements of insecurity. Again, I've said this before, it's harm reduction. I wouldn't advise anyone to "start" vaping to just vape, there should be age restrictions, there should be some oversight as to the manufacture of eliquids. You also have to understand big tobacco and big pharmaceutical are big players here, they want total control. Money talks. The industry is doing a great job of self regulation. Many larger manufacturers have very high tech processes that include clean rooms when making their liquids. I did a lot of research on ecigs and vaping in general before I made my choice. Just remember, it's a choice, you don't have to agree with it, but you should respect it and the how's and whys associated with it! 1 Quote
