You could, I like mine with a tad more than that, but if it was mine I could live with it.

Fill it up to the bottom of the bevel on the spool (which also happens to be about 1/8" from the top of the spool).

Tight lines,

I always fill to the bevel.  Used the last of a filler spool of 12# Siege on my Curado 201E7.  Ran out of line about an eight of an inch or more from the bevel.  Since many manuals suggest filling 1/16-1/8 below I left it that way.  Didn't seem to hurt casting any.  Was getting better than average distance.  Decided I will take it on my next visit to Florida so I pulled a little line off to ensure I wouldn't cast into the splice knot and finished filling with 55# Samurai.  Casts even further now.

All this to say "fill it to the bevel".  :teeth:

As everyone said here, yes you can and in most cases you should....

But for certain applications what you have will work fine.  If its mostly used for short distance casting/pitchin/flippin and jiggin' etc.  you're fine with the way it is.  Next time you re-spool, then fill er up like recommended.
