I haven't been on here in a long time because I got out of fishing last summer. May get back into it in a year or two, but for the time being I've just completely lost interest. On the flip side, I have discovered something else that is going to be taking a lot of my money. It has actually been a hobby of mine since I was about five, but I'm now getting pretty big into it. The hobby is...knives, hatchets, axes, etc. Looking at treating myself to a Wetterlings hatchet this Christmas. I've been teaching myself how to sharpen blades and I'm really getting into wood working, which is another hobby I'm really getting into but I'm not good at. Trying to learn to make spoons, bowls, hatchet handles, knife scales, etc. Just checking in to let you guys know I'm still alive. Have a few friends here.

Everone's interests change as they age.

I tell young guys who believe they want to be professional bass fishermen that the road they will travel can be like this:

Bass Fishing

Cars

Money (part time jobs)

Girls

Marriage

Career

Kids

Grandkids

Retirement

Bass Fishing

Just seems like this is the major path we take all or part of as we mature.

Merry Christmas!

Welcome back!

I can understand the waves of life we go through.

I had one from July to early November with no

fishing. Life got in the way, soccer (sons) took so

much of our time, etc. 'Tis the way of things.

Came back in November and caught a mess of

bass to welcome me back to my favorite waters.

Next up, equipment changes.....

Welcome back homie.

If you are interested in knives and bladed instruments. Why not try making your own. That's one of my favorite things to do. It's fun and helps bide time. Plus metal working can pay for itself real quickly.

Plus if you lose interest in fishing. You can always chill out down here in the basement with me and my pet ghoul.
