Fishwhittler Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 A while back I posted a PVC crankbait I was working on. Since then I have been suffering from W.L.M.W.D. (Winter Lure Making Withdrawl Disorder ;D). I'm finally back at lure building, and I've nearly got my first PVC crank finished; all it needs is another coat of epoxy. I was going for a color similar to the Megabass "Aka Tora" color. Let me know what you think. Ben Quote
Steven Ladner Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 I like that body stlye, and love the pattern. Very unique Quote
jr1945 Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 good job Ben. are you a pvc convert now? i haven't used wood for about 4 years now. Quote
BIG M Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Great looking bait Ben. Don't go to the PVC darkside, balsa wood is the way to go Quote
FL Knifemaker Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 I like it! I never fished a PVC bait. I would ASSume they are more dense than balsa? Quote
Fishwhittler Posted March 19, 2010 Author Posted March 19, 2010 Thanks guys. I'll probably still use wood for some baits, although the PVC is really nice. There are some difficulties with carving PVC, but on the other hand you can get a uniform bait easier because you don't have to deal with the woodgrain. The main problem I've found with PVC so far is that it overheats much easier than wood, and with nastier results :-X. Quote
ToledoEF Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 That looks great man, I love the pattern as well. That would be a good color for smallies here in the summer time on the maumee. Quote
stalking coyote Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 Just send it my way... I'll fish it Quote
