What are the best suites that you can buy? Stormr? Huk? Simms? or what?

Comment below on what you think and which model.

Ive heard that Huk is making a new suite this holiday season, but I haven't heard much.

For hot south florida weather, I personally love Frogg Toggs because they breath and relatively inexpensive. I have worn out a few pair, but can put them on in summer and not die from the heat. May not be ideal for colder climates but great for the tropics.

On a college budget (still had to save for a long time) I am extremely pleased with my Bass Pro Shops 100 mph Gore Tex bibs and jacket. I'll say this first, if its 80 degrees and raining in the summer, it may be on the warm side, but I still love this suit. I use it in the rain, and every time I fish in the fall and winter and stay warm. Two weeks ago I fished a tournament, and I had on a t-shirt, hoodie, light sweat pants, and then my suit and stayed warm the whole time. Not to mention it snowed on the way there. Running down the lake is no problem with the 100mph technology either. It has an over sized hood with Velcro straps that you can strap over your face or neck. The only down fall is that the Velcro straps on the hands have a tendency to rip. But I just sewed it with 60lb braid with some super glue and it was fine. I have yet to get wet in my suit. Give it a look. I think its worth the money

x2 on the BPS 100MPH Suit. I've only got the parka at the moment, but as far as rain gear goes, it was one of my best purchases. When it's warm out and raining, the gortex remains breathable and doesn't get too hot. They also make a zip in liner that makes them as warm as a winter jacket. I wear mine all the time in the fall when I'm fishing. If you don't want to spend the money on the BPS liner I've found that some Columbia Jacket liners zip right in too. The liner for my coat happened to be one of those so it made me a happy camper.

Ditto

I see guys down here wearing the Gore-Tex suits maybe 2-3 times a year when it get too cold for our standards, but at 300.00 a pop it's a bit much for not getting the use.

The Frogg Toggs will keep you warm with a few more layers underneath, and also bone dry when it's 90+ deg every day with a rain storm for 7 months of the year.

The Cabela's Guidewear I am wearing in my avatar is more than 12 years old,

but still appears to be brand new! Mine are the uninsulated version with bibs

and coat. This outfit is "on sale" most of the time which isn't really a sale. At

any rate, I consider this to be the best fishing investment I have ever made.

Same here and I'm in NC. I've worn mine over the top of my cold weather gear as well. Durability issues aside, they allow me freedom of motion and are easily stowed.

Since you asked for "the best" in a fishing forum, then I presume you're looking for the dryest, most durable outfit that's designed by and for anglers. I also presume cost is not a factor.

Winner: the Simms ProDry outfit. The jacket and bib will run you a cool grand, but when you're warm and dry in a storm, and not weighed down by the gear nor restricted by it, you won't be thinking about how much you paid for it.

Suit.

There's a suite of suits on TW.  They have some Simms stuff for 20-50% off.

Suit  . . . . .yeah . . . . . not suite . . . . I tried to picture what a rain suite would look like and I failed.      Anyway, I'm a Guide Wear & Frogg Togg fan.   Here in Missouri, I'm a fan of separate spring & fall & summer sets of gear.

see Ive really looked at their stuff....how does it breathe? No pit zips or anything? Keeps you cool just THROUGH the material?

Ive spent a lot of time Rock Climbing and Mountaineering....so Ive got a Marmot Shell Jacket and Helly Hansen Gore Tex pants if its really raining. Also in the Kayak, I'll just wear Waders and my jacket

I've had Cabela's Guidewear and currently have the BPS 100mph suit. Guidewear was great, but I bought it when I was 17 and it seems to have shrunk and no longer fits, although it's still very functional. My 100mph suit I have now is the second set I've had and it is coming apart at the seams just like the last set and it's only 2 years old. I just had to reattach the Velcro that goes around my wrist on one side because the adhesive gave up and the Velcro patch came off. Thankfully I was able to find it when it happened. The zippers are sub-par, the main zipper broke on my last suit after just 1 year which is why I had to return it, and like I said, the seams are slowly coming undone all over. It's a decent suit, but not at all impressed for what I paid for it.

If I had the money, I'd love to try the Simm's suit that Glenn suggested.

If you're on a budget, I'd suggest looking at the Academy H2O raingear. I know a few guys that have them and like them very well and you can get the whole suit for less than one piece of the Cabela's or BPS suits cost.

Frogg Toggs are great too if you're not using it in colder weather. I have a set that I use during the heat of the summer.

What's the durability like on the Frogg Toggs? Just curious, as I've heard mixed reviews. My dad is thinking of buying one for himself.

I just have one of the cheap suits that was one clearance for $30. The zipper sucks and the bottoms don't have pockets, but the Velcro works well enough to keep me dry and I take everything out of my pockets when I'm fishing anyways so neither is a big issue to me. They have nicer suits also that I've heard great things about but can't personally say anything about them.

I have the Stormr Fusion suit and I love it. It has neoprene in places where your body bends such as knees and elbows to help with movement while wearing the suit. Zippers feel a little cheap but I have not had a problem with them yet so durability seems good. It does get a little bit warm when it is hot outside but not too bad like the BPS suit. Suit is very light, nice and easy on the body while wearing all day. I also got it for an awesome price from Bass Mafia Tackle. I highly recommend this suit to anyone looking for new rain gear.

I have a Stormr Strykr jacket and love it. Thin enough to wear in summer storms. Insulated enough to wear when it's 20 out. The neoprene cuffs make water going up your sleeve a thing of the past.

Gill KB1 pants. No elastic suspenders that keep from sliding off my shoulders. The full chest is another layer of warmth. Really smart design features as it's design for sailboat racing where there is a lot of moving/scrambling and a high potential to get caught on gear.
