My cell rings today and I see it's one of my local beer distributors that seems to have a knack of acquiring hard to get brews. I had a feeling I knew what it was about as I was only looking for one beer in particular. I was right.

Yea. They only got 1 case in. I'm splitting a case of DFH Fort with another BR member. Picking it up on Saturday.

Being in Illinois, I've seen Goose Island beers on the shelf, but I've never seen that particular brew. I like stout; I grew up with Guiness. How's that one compare?

Its pretty fantastic....way heavier than Guinness and about 3x the ABV as well.

It's released on Black Friday and the lines for it are like you'd expect for cheap TVs at Best Buy! That's probably why you don't see it on the shelves.

Was that supposed to be a picture of Coors Light?

Lol, afraid not. I wouldn't even use CL to steam shrimp! Water imparts just as much flavor.

I'm going to have to try that stout. Seen it before

at a local wine/beer store.

But I've had to lay low on some of the stuff, packs

on way too many pounds, LOL. One such stout is

Dragon's Milk. Gosh that's good stuff.

Dragon's milk is good too. This one is a few notches up from that.

Really? Wow. Then I must try it.

Is it a few notches up in alcohol content, too?

It a couple % higher. Think it's around 13% or so.

I'm surprised there's still some around. Either people don't know about it or they're afraid of the price.

I had a friend try to get me some in NY and it sold out in 9 minutes.

That was the problem I had with Dragon's Milk.

Drank one of the larger bottles (bigger than 12oz).

Glad I was at home, put it that way.

I only consume when I'm home, at camp or wherever I'm gonna stay for the night.  There's too much of that on the road.
