bass109 Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 Nice custom made crankbaits, persuaderlures catch fish and sometimes using unusual lure can help like Bettencourtbaits. Quote
The_Natural Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 I've got a few of the persuader lures. I think Rick is a class act, and has some of the best customer service in the business. That said, the stealth shads I recieved just didn't blow me away. I feel the finish on a mass produced lucky craft is better, and the hooks could be better for a $20 bait. I prefer the Zoom/WEC and Brians B's (Just recieved the B's...haven't fished them yet). Just have to give my honest opinion to the BassResource.com readers. I'll post up a pic of a few of mine tomorrow...I'm about to run out of battery! Quote
BASS fisherman Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 I love custom crankbaits. I've caught more fish with custom cranks, than big name cranks like Rapala for example. These 4 were made by whittler: They are great crankbaits that just plain catch fish. These are from a company named Bass Hunters Custom Crankbaits: I'm testing these lures for the company, and will post a report of my findings when the testing is complete. I really like these 2. Guest avid Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 I got my first Carolina Chip custom crank a couple of weeks ago. I was on the phone with my son and he said he thought Chip was a real good guy (my son doesn't fish) so I won't be too surprised if Santa has a couple more of his designer lures. Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted November 25, 2006 Super User Posted November 25, 2006 I REALLY LIKE THAT BLUEGILL. SWEET PAINT JOB, AND TRIPLEGRIPS TOO. DOES HE HAVE A WEBSITE? Quote
Guest whittler Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 Most custom made baits are just that, custom. They are made to the customers specifications, size, wood type, lip style, lip material(Lexan or circuit board), hardware, color, depth and type of action, type and style of hooks. There is something special about handling a lure and know that it was made by a craftsmans hands and not stamped out like bottle caps. Quote
Guest avid Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 Whittler does beautiful work. I have a couple and they are fish getters. Carolina Chip has been a dream lure for me for several years, but Whittlers work has grown to be, in my view comparable to the best custom designs out there. There are definitly a few more in my future. Quote
GAMEOVER Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 bass109: I really like that one at the bottem in your 2nd post. What a different cb that is, bet it catches fish to. Quote
