boostr Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 I will be using my Humminbird Helix 5 SI on a Kayak so I got a light weight battery to run it. After checking the Current draw with full backlight, and everything at max, it was only using a max of 460mA so this battery I'm getting should last me 8 to 9 hrs, and 7 at the advertised 615mA current draw. (dropping some knowledge for folks who are thinking about getting this particular FF, and wondering what battery to use) So I ended up getting this battery kit: https://www.austinka...Pack.html?last= It has recieved good reviews on different sites. Super User DogBone_384 Posted December 8, 2015 Super User Posted December 8, 2015 Do you have any 12V power tools with lithium ion batteries? I use my Milwaukee batteries to power a Lowrance Elite-4 HDI. I was out 6 hours today on one battery. I keep them in a small Pelican case with a waterproof disconnect. 1 Quote

For me personally though, I rather use those batteries for my tools. Plus too late, I already bought the kit I posted. Quote
eddallen Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Power chair batteries work great. I use two of these for 3-day boat shows where I run 2 HDS, and a NMEA network about 10 hours per day. They last but as you can expect, they are low nearing the end of day 3. Quote
Bass newb Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Wal marts carry 12 and 6 volt batteries of the 2-9aH variety. I have 3. Quote
Dreamchaser Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Ah. I was planning to use my trolling motor battery but seems various 12v options would work. I like the power tool idea Quote
