From Matthew Randazzo: "It is with a sad heart that I must confirm that Kent "Frenchy" Brouillette, the legendary New Orleans character immortalized in MR. NEW ORLEANS, has been murdered.

He was one of the most original, charming, and fascinating figures in New Orleans history, and, he was always a true friend to me and my family.

I will be putting together a celebration of the good in Frenchy's life sometime after 12/14.

Anyone with information regarding Frenchy's demise should contact the New Orleans Police Department's Homicide Unit."

Frenchy is one person you would never forget if you had met him.

Great personality and some very funny stories about the mob and the French Quarter.

He knew all of the players in the President Kennedy assassination and he told me that the mob hit the wrong guy. They told him that they should have hit Bobby and not Jack.

I was very luck to have met Frenchy and heard his mob stories.

RIP, Frenchy.

I consider myself lucky to have not met him.

RIP "Frenchy".

"I will be putting together a celebration of the good in Frenchy's life sometime after 12/14."

Be sure to get there on time.  The celebration will only last for 15 seconds.

"Wiseguys called him "The Keith Richards of the American Mafia" and JFK hero Jim Garrison denounced him as "one of the most notorious vice operators in the history of New Orleans" - but you can just call him Mr. New Orleans, baby. For over fifty years, Frenchy Brouillette has been on a sex, drugs, and rock 'n'roll bender that has made him the most notorious party animal and Cajun gangster in all of Louisiana folklore."

Only in Louisiana will you find crooked politicians and gangsters looked up to with such high regard.

Yes. It is a way of life in Louisiana.

There is no place like New Orleans and Louisiana in the world.

Maybe one day you will have the honor of visiting New Orleans and Cajun country and get a flavor of the people.

Then go fishing for redfish in the Biloxi and bass in the Atchafalaya.

Best fishing in the world!

And the food is good, too.

Mardi Gras may be a bit too much for people from Michigan although the Ohio State people seem to be able to handle the French Quarter. :wink2:

Fishing, you did not want to meet him when he was the Marcella family top wise guy.

But in later life he was always nice, formal, pleasant and fun to be with.

The last time I saw him was at breakfast and he brought along two old friends.

I asked them what they did and the first one told me he was in the transportation business and the second told me he was in the financial business before they retired.

After the meeting my best friend said, "Sam, do you know what those guys meant by what they did before they retired?"

He told me that the one in the transportation business stole anything the mob wanted: airplanes, boats, cars, motorcycles, etc.

The second guy in the financial industry held up banks and jewelry stores.

Hey, it is Louisiana. That's the way it is.

Scumbag. Someone who steals and hurts others is a loser. This guy is a loser. He's a loser in only 49 states apparently.

Everyone seems to love Obama and Clinton...and Clinton is up to her false hair in murder, deaths, drugs and fleecing of America.  :eyebrows:
