Thanks a million! I got my 11y/o son a spinning combo for Xmas with a reel that doesn't hold a ton of line, so I decided to spool it with braid. I've had a couple of bad fishing years - just couldn't get out there but a handful of times, but he's ready to get back at it with me. He's had a BC since he was 5, so now he has a spinning combo.

I second that.  Next question.

I know, it was a dumb question...sorry. I had a table that iabass8 just posted, but can't for the life of me find it. Instead of web searching, I asked so I can get an Xmas tree with the kids. I'll think before I post a question like that in the future.

I hope you guys enjoy the holiday season and have a prosperous New Year!

I'm using 10lb PP regular on several

1000 size reels, and some have 15lb

PP SS8. 15 will be perfect for your

son's reel.

Just remember, put some mono backing on that spinning reel first before you spool it up.
