TxHawgs Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 I know I seen this once before, it was an awesome list of all the techniques and what type of line the poster used for each. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong in my search but I really want to get an idea of what everyone is using. Quote

Super User Raul Posted December 2, 2015 Super User Posted December 2, 2015 Pay close attention: Topwater ........ Berkley Trilene Big Game Crankbaiting ...... Berkley Trilene Big Game Worming ( Texas or Carolina ) ...... Berkley Trilene Big Game Worming ( unweighted, wacky, dropshotting, splitshotting ) ...... Berkley Trilene Big Game Jigging ( botton hopping ) ..... Berkley Trilene Big Game Jigging ( swimming ) ..... Berkley Trilene Big Game ............. ............. Should I continue discussing which line for which bait and/or technique ? That don't mean I won't use other line, sometimes I do use other lines, since Berkley Trilene is only manufactured from 10 lbs or more test then, when I need to go light I'll fish with ...... Berkley Trilene XT and ocassionally with YoZuri Hybrid. Quote

Jaw1 Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Usually p-line copoly and seagar flouro. Flouro for bottom contact presentation pline for reaction baits. I do use braid when fishing a fluke and frog occasionally (power pro) but it's my least used line type. As far as manufactures go I've used them all but these 3 suite me,although stren works fine as well basically as long as it's not trilene I'll use it Quote
Toeshots Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Here's what I use: Jigs - 20lb Seaguar Tatsu FC T-Rigs - 15lb Seaguar Tatsu FC Frogs - 50lb Power Pro Braid Tubes/Finesse - 8lb Seaguar Tatsu FC Cranks - 12 LB Sufix Siege All Other - 12 LB Sufix Siege Quote
Super User WIGuide Posted December 2, 2015 Super User Posted December 2, 2015 I keep it pretty simple Flip/pitch heavy cover and frogging - 50 lb braid Finesse presentations (dropshot, wacky worm, etc) - 6 lb fluoro or 20 lb braid to a 6 lb fluoro leader Pretty much everything else - 12 lb fluoro Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted December 2, 2015 Super User Posted December 2, 2015 One of the only areas that I've been able to simplify my bass fishing...not as simplified as Raul, but simple enough for me: I can sleep ok if I only have four spools of line laying around: two spools of braid (20 and 40 or 50) and two spools of Yo-Zuri hybrid (6 or 8 and 12) Straight Braid - Jigs and frogs Yo-Zuri Hybrid - Cranks/top-water (12lb), finesse (6 or 8#) Braid with Yo-Zuri leader - Pretty much everything else Quote

I know this one is getting old but I´m not much of a picture guy ( besides, I´m positive that cameras are my kryptonite when it comes to beeg mommas, if I bring it then I don´t catch anything worth taking a picture cuz beeg mommas are camera shy with me so I don´t bring it ) here´s one I caught a few years ago ( pic taken with my compadre´s camera ): 13.5 lber caught with a 4" inch senko and you guessed right -----> Berkley Trilene Big Game 12 lb test. Super User Fishes in trees Posted December 2, 2015 Super User Posted December 2, 2015 There aren't any rules for what line to use for what approach. You've already got general guide lines for what might or might not be appropriate. Pick one and try it. If you don't like it, try a different one. Quote
