Recently broke my only XH while fishing sturgeon. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a rod in the 100-180 price that would he good to throw hudds.

Thanks, Matt

Daiwa makes one (DX Swimbait rod) at about $109 and then Irod's Genesis II rods run about $150.

+1 for this. Plus, a great warranty to boot.

Also, here great things about the Daiwa DX as gulfcaptain stated.

I purchased a DX earlier this year and couldnt be happier with it. A GREAT rod for the PRICE! I almost like it as much as my Crucial SB rod. Almost... Hahaha.

If you take a look at the Huddleston rods on TW they are an 8' rod and the lure weight 3-10oz and Matt Newman designed it for them. That rod is $249. Take a look at the irod genesis II large swimbait rod. Irod is owned or started by Matt Newman. Essentially the irod is exactly the same as the Huddleston rod but 100 bucks cheaper. I got the irod and that thing is perfect for the 8" hudds. Hope this helps.

X2 ! I just picked up the 7"11 H "A" series rod and it's pretty sweet. I got it for $109 at Sportsmans Warehouse. Very nice rod!  So the XH would be a great choice for your 8" Hudds.
