I was just wondering why these reels don't seem to get mentioned very much? I know the Perfecta rods get recommended from time to time but I don't recall ever seeing the reels get mentioned. I went up to Gander Mountain this evening and messed around with the Optimus and the Producer XT spinning reels. I was really surprised at how smooth and solid these reels felt. The Producer blew me away when I saw it was an 80 dollar reel. The Optimus felt every bit as solid and smooth as my Stradics do. So am I missing something or are these reels just flying right under everyone radar?

Last summer I was in the market for a couple new casting reels and was interested in Pinnacle. Like you I could not find anything on these but I bit the bullet and bought an Optimus LTE. I was so impressed with the reel I swapped my Gen 3 Revo SX I had with them (same price point reels). Thay are extremly smooth and can cast miles. The only reel i have found better than the Optimus LTE was the ***. I say if you like them get one.  They defiantly fly under the radar with most people. You can get the Producer XT Spinning Reel for $72 at TW as well.

Fly under the radar.  No experience with their spinning reels, but there are at least 2 spinning reel reviews here. http://www.bassresource.com/tackle-reviews/

I picked up a Primmus baitcast reel in time to take it to Florida earlier this year.   Looks great.  Smooth.  This reel and the Optimus Xi XS are hand-tuned at the factory.   Spooled with 12# AN40.  Mounted on a 7' ML Hurricane Redbone.  Rod is rated for 3/8-3/4 oz.  Casts a Yo-Zuri 3DB Popper (3/8 oz.) the proverbial country mile.  I absolutely love this reel and eventually will buy another.

BTW, got the Redbone at a local mom and pop store in Deland.  Had two at $75 (a $100 rod).  Should have gone back and bought the other.  Very nice rods for the money.  Another sleeper.

EDIT:  Glad to see that about the ***.  Should have my new one in a couple days.  Don't know if I will get to try it this year.

Decided to delve into the baitcasting world a year or two ago, but didn't want to waste alot of money if I didn't like them, so I bought a Pinnacle, and it blew me away.  So, the next time I was in the market for another reel, I snagged another Pinnacle.  Never a regret.

Pinnacle has a lot of models and I'd like to try them all.  However, I already have way more reels than even I can justify.  Guess I will have to explain to the wife that I have become a collector, and she can make some good money off them after I die.  That way I can buy a bunch more.  :teeth3:

I have the Optimus LTE casting reel and like it very well. I also did a review on mine.

There is a good review of the Producer at TackleTour. com. I have a Performa XT 30 and it is solid, buttery smooth casting & reeling with a very smooth consistent drag the bail is heavy and very easy to lube. You won't be disapointed to bad you missed the TW sale you could have landed the Producer XT for $61 and change.

I bought a Producer XT 7:1 in June and worked it pretty hard this summer, mostly on my jig rod.  I can't compare it to the LTE's which have gotten favorable reception around here, but overall, I was pretty unimpressed.  But, then, I thought I was getting a great deal at $98.  At $61, I'd have been a lot more forgiving, and honestly, it is probably a decent deal at $61...but at a c-note.....

It is easily my least favorite reel - well behind gen 1 AG Orra SX.  The reel feels 'cheap' to me, partly because label plate fell off in first week and plastic parts could be scratched by looking at them.  It isn't hard to dial in, but it is far from 'smooth' and won't cast nearly as 'well' or as far as my other reels.  There is some play in the spool, even when adjusted.  However, there are two things that are 'serious' deal breakers to me:

1.  The thumb-bar release/engagement is awful - won't disengage at times and gets totally fubarred on hard hooksets and snags; either won't pop back, if engaged, or won't depress, if up.  Takes a fair amount of playing to get it back on track.

2.  Drag is rough and uneven.

I certainly hope the LTE is head and shoulders above this one, because I really wanted to like Pinnacle.

A buddy of mine fishes a whole arsenal of them and is quite pleased with them. He claims a good ROI for the reels.

Thanks for the links!! They provided some great feedback into the brand. I really wish I could find more on the spinning reels then again I am very much in the minority who prefers to have a spinning rod in his hand vs a casting rod.
