Super User Jig Man Posted March 3, 2010 Super User Posted March 3, 2010 The mold you need to buy depends on what and how you fish. Three common ones are arke, football, and posion tail. I personally like the posion tail best but you have to buy 2 molds to get much choice in sizes. www.fishingskirts.com is the best place I have found to buy silicone tabs. Quote
Branuss04 Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 I'll give a big +1 for cast industries. I've dealt with them on a few occasions and their heads are VERY clean. They have a great catolog of heads but most of them you can customize as well (I.E bigger hooks, smaller hooks, upgraded gammies, etc). The only downside is you must order in bulk (50 of one size/type). I use ***s site for my skirts. I've bought from fishingskirts . com as well but have become lazy in making jigs, so using ***s pre-made skirts is very simply and I can add colors to them if needed. I've got it to where my jigs cost less than 1.00 a piece for me to make. If you decide you don't want to make your own heads send me a PM and i'll email you the catolog for castindustries. flipnpitch Posted March 4, 2010 Author Posted March 4, 2010 Thanx for the reply, guys. Ranger, $1.54 with rattles is awesome. Jig Man, I've never heard of the poison tail. Any more info? Brandon, sent you a pm regarding that catalog. I can't wait to get started. I fish a small club here in SE Ohio. We usually hit three or four different lakes and most of our tournaments are on the river. I use mainly 3/8 oz football and arkie styles. Once in a while, if the current is up, I'll go to 1/2 oz or a little heavier. Like the Booyah baby bugs, too. Again thanx for the help and if I need any more help I'll be in touch. Quote
Tim1980 Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 I order my skirt making material from Barlow's Tackle. Quote
