Siebert Outdoors Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Anyone using Vicious Flourocarbon? How does it compare to inviz x? Quote
Super User Angry John Posted November 30, 2015 Super User Posted November 30, 2015 I do not like it. I used the elite and had handling issues. Invesx is great on spinning reels. Others to try are p line 100% and sniper. I have and use both, both are very good. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 30, 2015 Global Moderator Posted November 30, 2015 I like it in the 12 pound test for finesse jigs and T rigs. It's pretty stiff but the abrasion resistance and strength have been good. Once you get heavier than that, managing it becomes a big hassle. Quote
WdyCrankbait Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 I have used Vicous Flouro with no problems, I have not used the other line mentioned. Quote
Dypsis Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 While I can't compare to inviz x as I haven't used it. While prefishing for a tournament I got hung up and pretty much was left with nothing, my boater had a bulk spool of 15 and I spooled it up. Used it that weekend and took it off when I got home. It was to wirey for my liking. Also, I thought it was a little stiff. I only used it for 2 days so I didn't give it a completely fair chance, but I won't be buying any. But that's all he uses and seems to like it, so to each their own. Sniper IMHO is hard to beat. Matt Quote
gnobsaz Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 I tried it in 20 lb. and took it off after one use. Very stiff and just not good for our rocky clear water applications. Red label is not too expensive and is a better product, but not as good as Invizix. Quote
Logan S Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 It has a much thicker diameter per line rating than Seagaur or Sunline so it's usually seen as less manageable than other lines when compared straight up...12 lb Vicious is thicker than 15 lb Seaguar. Even when matching diameters I still prefer other lines, but it's not awful in the smaller sizes. IMO Red Label is the king of budget flouros, I use it and love it for both main line and leaders. Super User roadwarrior Posted November 30, 2015 Super User Posted November 30, 2015 Someone gave me a spool for free, which was way overpriced. 1 Quote
Jon G Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 I hated it. Way too much memory and was pretty thick. My favorite Flouro is still Sniper. My runner up after that is P-line 100% imo that is an incredibly underrated line that does not get enough attention. Quote
Super User WRB Posted December 1, 2015 Super User Posted December 1, 2015 Because Vicious is a American owned and operated line company who bought DuPont Stren line facility I was interested in their products. The Nylon mono lines are good, the FC is about the same diameter as Trilene FC, however was very disappointed in it's performance; high memory with low knot strength. Great price point if you don't mind the high memory issues. I would suggest trying Sunlines Assasin FC, 225 yard spool at a moderate price point. Tom Quote
Grantman83 Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 I rarely bash products but vicious was the worst line I have ever used (and this from a guy who didn't mind berkley vanish). Unmanageable at higher tests (12 and above) to the point of me laying down the reel and not even using it that day. Quote
