atcoha Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Looking for some recommendations on jerk baits. Specifically for the those suspended/deeper fish. The lakes I fish get no deeper than 25' at the deepest, a big part is around 20'. I have had some luck on deep cranks when they are holding in the deeper water, 10' and deeper. Just want to expand into jerkbaits and see what happens. Quote
RyanFishing Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 My favorite jerkbait is the Strike King KVD Jerkbait but for deeper fish I would recommend the Lucky Craft Staysee Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted November 28, 2015 Super User Posted November 28, 2015 Another vote for the LC Staysee. Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted November 29, 2015 Super User Posted November 29, 2015 Sounds like you have a good option right there in the Staysee! Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted November 29, 2015 Super User Posted November 29, 2015 I like the Megabass live-x Margay but I wouldn't overlook the 110+1. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 29, 2015 Global Moderator Posted November 29, 2015 Lucky Craft Staysee or Pointer XD, Duo 100DR, Megabass or KO 110+1, or the Spro McRip 85 which has been my best deep running jerkbait the last couple years. If the water is clear and they're aggressive the bass will move a long ways to hit your bait so you don't always have to get it all the way down to them. 2 Quote
Super User smalljaw67 Posted November 29, 2015 Super User Posted November 29, 2015 The Staysee or Mcrip 85, these are the only ones you need. I have an X-Rap deep and an old Xcalibur Xt3 deep twitch bait but they only get down to about 7' or so and deep is 10' plus and that to me means Staysee, which is tough to beat, and the Mcrip, which works well when the fish a even more lethargic than normal. Logan S Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 I like the Vision 110+1 but have also had good success with the Staysee like others have mentioned already. Another option is the LC Bevy Shad, it's a great deep running jerkbait that is often overlooked.... 1 Quote
Looking for the big one Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Just me, but the Ima Flit looks really good in the water, and if I actually fished in some shad/ herring waters I would probably be using it right now. Quote
