I don’t need the nameplate. But I’m not going to buy a Charger and call It a Champion. ??‍♂️

It is actually a Champion 210 Elite made at the Charger factory with their logos on them.  The son of the Charger owner and Kelly Power got a 210 from a guy, cut it up and made molds.  Johnny Morris owns the Champion name even though he had all of the Champion molds destroyed.

Nope, it's a Champion . They couldn't use the name as was said but they did use the model numbers.

Anyone who knows boats knows what it is.

Lol. Are you buying from Champion? Show me the Champion website. Champion- the company - is no longer in business. You’re buying a d**n Charger. No one but you guys on the Internet, who probably don’t even own one, would go around saying you’re buying a new Champion when you’re buying a charger. If Ford went under today, and in 15 years, Chevy made a truck that looks exactly like a 2023 Ford, you’d still be buying a Chevrolet. Lol

Your wrong again.  If I buy one it's from a dealer not from the factory. And yes I have owned one. How many you had ?

True enough, Charger did aquire the ChampioN molds, made minor changes to the stripping and started producing them. Other than the changes to the stripe's, it's a great looking rig. I completely understand why they changed the stripes, just not for me. I used to have a 19' ChampioN, best boat I've ever owned.

Here's a little trivia for you. BPS/ White River Marine own the ChampioN name now. They also own the Stratos, Pro Craft and I believe Astro names. They own the rights to some other boat names from the past but I can't remember them.

This thread keeps coming back! Floridafishinfool I can't help respecting your compassion for the men who resigned their positions. For the employees of Ranger the success of the company is what's important. For the executives who left, that is simply the way business works. These men had  great careers with Ranger. Now they can find something else to do.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Ranger. I wish Morris and Ranger well.

About one mile from the Ranger plant there now exists a boat manufacturer by the name of Vexus.  Any past or present Ranger employees wondering whatever happened to their former co-workers should take a guided tour of the Vexus plant.  From top management to the production line, Vexus is well staffed with former Ranger employees.  By the way, I love my Vexus VX21 fiberglass bass boat.

Tritons are being made in the legend plant. Does that make them a Legend?

Right. So it’s a charger.

Technically it is a Charger 210 Elite, but it was made from a Champion 210 Elite.  I went to the factory with Kelly when they were getting set up for production.

Do they say Legend on the side?

So technically, I’m correct.

I guess a better question is how many Legends are produced there since being acquired by White River Marine?

Who cares where it’s made. If it comes off the factory line as a Ranger, it’s a Ranger. BPS bought Ranger years go, but the boats still say Ranger on them.

I'm thinking that whoever the title or registration says is the manufacturer, is the manufacturer.

Correct because they are still a Ranger. Champion is gone. Hence why they are called Charger.

Interesting thread since I now own a Vexus. One of the best companies for customer service I’ve ever dealt with. Of course there have been growing pains, but they are coming along.

Sorry, Charger line

Actually they now sell the Phoenix line

If the idea was to kill off the brand, they haven't done a very good job of it. Same with Triton.

I think the trouble was that every guide, every wanna be guide and "pro" was on staff.

When white river took over, they trimmed the fat and a lot of guys ended up without a discount.

Around here it looks like Caymus has taken over that role and has some guides in their boats.

I've had a Ranger and would buy another. Currently I have a Triton and the boat has been flawless but let's face it they all can have issues. If I got a crazy idea to buy a new boat tomorrow .... Probably another Champion. The reason ol' Johnny bought Ranger was because it was for sale

Johnny Morris bought the Champion plant, re-tooled it, and now makes Tritons there.  Stratos is also history.

Not Exactly. He bought the Legend plant and moved Triton there.  Triton's were being made side by side with Ranger in the Ranger plant after the acquisition.

I stand corrected;  brain fog again.
