We watch/record 2 episodes a day during the week......lots of repeats obviously......but good tv to watch.

My 12yr old son started watching it last year in school.......at least 1 teacher is trying to teach the good morals/ethics.

It did my heart good for my son to sit down and watch it as a family!

Ernest T. Bass also gets married.  And I think if he stopped throwing rocks through windows, it lasted.

Good clean TV shows. The 50's, the 60' were innocent. Some of the 70's was ok.

I grew up in a small town in Jersey. Till ten yo. Twenty minutes from the city. Like Mayberry spmetimes in the fifties.

One of my all time favorites.  I watch it every night on ME TV.  I have seen every episode.  Watched it straight though on Netflix one year.  While Floyd has a son,  no mention of being married.  Both mayors were married.   I do see you point however.

Think about this Don Knotts was supposed to be the straight man in this show and Andy the goofball. Half way through the first eppisode Andy told the directors that there was no way that he could keep up with Don's comedic genious. Therefore they redid the pilot and the rest shall we say is history. Can you imagine how different of a show that would have been.

I was going to say Floyd's hair "tonic".
