Probably full sun, 69 degree weather, northerly wind, permanently stained, but not dirty water. I'm thinking Rat L Trap, slow rolled Colorado blade spinnerbait, T-rigged Craw. Quote

But the water's generally stained around here. From what I hear, dropshots excel in gin clear water, no? Quote

You may be missing out on something easly overlooked if people around where you fish don't fish a dropshot because the water isn't gin clear. Worked great in the middle of summer in Louisiana behind a buddies house in stained 12" visability. Just saying, might want to rethink and give it a shot. And it works in cooler water just as well.....last time I got to fish ended up with a dozen on the dropshot, 4 on jigs, and one on a swimbait with the water stained and 57. Not 55, but come on I live in S.Cal......55 is about as cold as the water gets sometimes. 1 Quote

Super User gulfcaptain Posted November 25, 2015 Super User Posted November 25, 2015 I fish a lot of green pumpkin. Favorite dropshot bait....4" Live Impact. I have others I've fished but these just have the right action and have a great set of colors. Also dropshot the Swing Impacts at times as well. And if needed I'll take a bit of Chartreuse Spike It and dye the very tip end. And the Roboworm's Margarita Mutilator is another that works well in stained waters. Very popular color up on the Sac. Dont know why the Model A has consistently out performed other cranks when the water cools down but it has . 1 Quote

But I can tell you, I haven't caught any dinks on the Trap. All big'uns. 1 Quote

Getting back to my OP, I truly love the sebile baits, and think they work markedly better than rattle traps up here in my neck of the woods. Now, do they really catch 5x no- I may have exaggerated as fisherman tend to do. But, I really would urge anyone who uses a trap to give these a try and see if they work better for you. Quote

I understood what ya meant We tend to give the lure all the credit when in fact it was location not lure that was productive. I don't care which lipless crank ya throwing, if ya aint where the bass are it aint gonna matter! 1 Quote
