Vodkaman Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Seems all the sites are working again now, except one. I'll let you guess which one is not working. I'll give you a clue, the one where no one moderates. I know, what a *****. Dave Quote
Vodkaman Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Pregnant dog! Did I type that? Why are we even talking about a rival site? This should be disallowed in the rules. This thread should be deleted. Is this some kind of subsidiary to TU? All I see here is references back to TU, this is so wrong. What is the point of this site, if every time a difficult question arises, you just refer members to TU. This site has quality members, more than capable af answering any questions that arise. Step up and do some work, I say. By all means, shoot me down if I am wrong. Opinions please. Dave Quote

Dave since when are we rivals? and its easy to refer people to TU, and since the entire TU site is dedicated to lure building, instead of one subtopic, there is often more information there. also, sometimes there are current threads there that are very applicable to the subject at hand here. but you're right, it doesn't do much good to ONLY refer people to TU. oh, btw, its up and running again. Stringjam Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 This forum is VERY different than TU's forum, and I like to use them both. TU's setup is all about direct Q&A, which sets itself up better as a source of information and archiving. That keeps it from getting cluttered, as it were. Lots of experienced guys over there with a lot of valuable knowledge. In this forum, you can post pics of what you're working on and basically be a lot more casual with your posts and discussion. I made one of these posts at TU awhile back (a "look what I'm working on" type of post) and it was quickly deleted. Deleted!! The first time in 15 years of posting on the internet that I've ever had a post deleted by a moderator. ;D So there's a place and purpose for both forums. Quote

I also use both, but I only post on BR because it has more of a casual feel like your talking to fishing buddies. BR is more keyed to bass fishing. TU on the other hand is for lure and rod builders to share and gather info on how to's. Not as friendly. Both are great and I don't consider them as rivals. Buzz Quote
BobP Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Sometimes I wonder "Why did the moderator do that?" or "What the heck got that guy's nose so out of joint that he posted THAT?" No answer for either and if there was, you probably wouldn't like it. You can't know what drives another guy's actions or attitudes on the internet. Maybe he's got a good point. Maybe somebody just ran over his dog. Maybe his mental health needs a little tweaking. It doesn't matter. Use the good stuff, make a contribution if you can, enjoy the fun stuff, and ignore the rest.
