I had the four speed tyranny on the floor in the pit while I changed out my clutch. One of the old timers looked and asked me why did I take the tranny out to put a new clutch in? He proceeded to tell me his mechanic installed a new clutch in his car and never took the tranny out. I was dumb founded and stuck for words.

He said he was taking a night school mechanics course.

A month or so later he realized the tyranny needs to be removed to remove the clutch. The pilot / input shaft of the tyranny goes through the clutch disc. He said he paid for a new clutch but his mechanic only adjusted it.

Loading the boat in driveway at home to go fishing.

Rods in and up against the boat.

Plastics all over the front platform.

Neighbor comes over and asks me if I am going fishing?

Now, I could have been nasty or I could have been nice.

I was nice and answered "yes."

He smiled and went back home.

I arrived at my Aunts house one day with my bike helmet under my arm. She asks "Are you on your Motorcycle?". I responded " No, I brought this just in case someone wanted to launch me out of a cannon". Brian.

What I hate is when the neighbor invites himself to go fishing. " You know...If you ever need a partner..." He's done it twice. Once in the spring when they moved in and again 2 weeks ago when I put the boat away. Never once has he invited me to go golfing.(I don't golf, it's the point he has never invited me)

Bring him fishing. They may turn out loving it (if they don't already), and you may find yourself a fishing partner. I get your rub with what he says and the timing but sometimes people see things differently. Like, when I take someone fishing and they see all the combos on my front deck and think nothing about asking to use this one or that. They see a spinner bait or a crank bait and want to use that. What they don't see is the expensive rod and reel. Ignorance is bliss. But I always let them use ( i just keep a close eye and am thankful that St croix and carrot stick have a great warranty/replacement policy)

I always take anyone who wants to go fishing. My buddies step brothers are young teenagers and it is a full time job keeping them fishing, undoing their snags, etc. But, I still bring them whenever they ask even thought I do not get to fish much. The more people involved will only better the sport for everyone. Also, it is an amazing feeling to see them hook up and land a fish.

Have a boat?= plenty of freinds to go fishing but no one around to work on it.

I just mentioned a boat and one guy told me not to forget him when I go fishing. I don't see this guy for a year at a time.

I never mooched on anyone.

I feel your pain. Boats are a lot of work. A lot of people don't realize that. Between the maintenance, the cleaning, the trailering, the gassing it up. Plus, then to throw fishing on top of that.

I spend hours checking my tackle, changing lines, organizing tackle, changing baits almost every week of the summer. I hate when your taking someone inexperienced fishing  and they are like what are you doing or try to rush you to save 5 minutes. I am like if you had any idea what kind of preparation what into this you would think I am crazy. But I grin and bear it. Boats are  a lot of work but most of us have them because they are totally worth the aggravation.

Boats are a portable casting deck. At my age plus my health I think getting a boat has sailed. I can afford it. But I can't handle it alone.

I'm very thankful I have some good shoreline hot spots.

I thought that was just a teenager thing. Guess I'll hear the same thing the rest of my life lol

I don't like it when people see me wearing my cubs/steelers hats and ask if I'm a cubs/steelers fan...

But I guess nowadays people wear team jerseys and hats and don't watch the sport at all...

Sadly that has been happening for quite some time. For example going back to the days where gangs would wear their "colors", often times using apparel from various sports teams.

I've just come down from the roof after spending two hours in 10-degree frigid wind working on a heat pump.

The Polo shirt-wearing keyboard drone asks me if he should send his employees home because it's, "Too cold to work".

5/16 nut driver. Right eye.

I ain't bitter...

I just finished battling a 34" fat striper into the net while drifting under a bridge. Fish still in the net flopping,I hear a voice from up on the bridge ask"did you just catch that here".

I was speechless and just gave it thumbs up.

Why do you need so many rods?

And "why do you need so many shoes?" back at her.

Are there really fish in this lake! Usually asked by the many people who run around the lake every day!

Good one,,, guy walks up this place is fished out. He casts the same spinnerbait every time I see him. The exact same color no trailer.

Then he comes over again as I land a bass on a CRANKBAIT. He says do those lures work. He just seen me pull a bass in. Before I could answer him bass number two is landed. Then he answers his own question, I guess they do work. Then I put scent on the CRANKBAIT. Another question does that juice work. Before I could answer number three bass is landed. Then he says the juice does work and can you spray my lure with it? I did just to get rid of him.

When I'm in my zone I don't talk or like to be bothered. I'm focusing on what I'm doing.

I will stop to help kids if they show an interest.

Ok I'm fishing and land one bass. I figured this one is for my kittens. A guy walks up with his girlfriend looks at my bass and starts telling her the one he caught the other day was bigger. I put my fish on my clip stringer in the water. I then walked my gear to the car. I come back my fish is gone. I looked at him and I said nothing.

Karma works in many ways he caught nothing.

Like one fish I take per year is going to hurt the population.
